Hey tulc,

There sure is some crazy folk out there.

God bless,
Ted

At least they are taking their anger out on whoever caused it, instead of innocent civilians in the form of terrorism.

Happy these guys got caught though, how dumb do you have to be anyway?

Some people I swear... voting is much more pleasant.

Seems they had political differences with their local government, were planning on a little ceremonial trial for treason or some such thing...

Idiotic people... lol. So much difference an election can make.

from article said:
The feds alleged that Fox pursued a plan to form a militia to kidnap Whitmer before the 2020 Election—taking hostages at the Capitol building, if need be, in order to try Whitmer for “treason.”
...wouldn't the above be considered terrorism?
tulc(because it sure sounds a lot like it to him) :sorry:

What compels you to distort this thread into some twisted political statement?

As defined by Bruce Hoffman; Terrorism is “violent actions carried out by a subnational group or non-state actors, operating with the aim of generating a psychological effect on the society rather than directly targeting determined victims, acting with political purpose and motivational factor”

This little rag tag group of idiots were closer to trying a hostile takeover of sorts, of the Michigan government, without thought or intelligence behind it.

People really just need to utilize the lovely system we have in place..and respect it.

As good a time as any, since those on this forum that will be first to condemn this action are first to dismiss the pain caused by those billions of dollars in damage to the property and livelihoods of a great many innocent people, or flat out condone it.

I think both groups are wrong... but I also like to point out blatant hypocrisy...

As defined by Bruce Hoffman (snip)

Terrorism as defined by the FBI:
The unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a Government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.

so...I'm going with the FBI in this case.

It's only terrorism when you lose, when you fight the government..

True true.
Than these guys were terrorists because it would appear they've lost.

If people think that they have suffered damages as a result of government action, that is what the courts are for. I never thought we would see something like this in the US.

I'm talking about the riots, when I talk about the damage done to people's property and livelihoods... (more than a billion dollars in damage reported so far from all these riots and still counting, plus these areas may take years to rebuild back to their former state, meaning billions more in loss of jobs etc. as time goes on)

If people don't like the way their representatives are representing them, they need to vote not riot, and not kidnap governing officials.

But my understanding from what I’m hearing on the news was that these right-wing idiots were really upset about the executive orders the governor issued, not the riots.

That's correct. And the rioters were also rioting over politics.

I pointed out the rioters because they are equally wrong, if not more so because they actually hurt people that had nothing to do with their grievances.

I just despise people who would condemn this action without condemnation of the other.

But the rioters were a small fraction of those protesting. The majority of the protests were peaceful. Further the protests and riots were about police violence not politics.

We had protests here in WV but no rioting.

Is an attack on an elected representative not an attack on the civilians they represent?

The radical right will use terrorists type tactics to get their way.

Meanwhile the radical left uses the legislature to pass laws to get their way.

Both are a threat to freedom. However, the government will work to eliminate the radical right, but at the same time enforce laws passed by the the radical left.
