Site Support?

I was curious about all your thoughts on being site supporters since Erwins changes?
It's a little while later and I wonder how you feel about donating to this site after seeing how the changes have affected the forum?

I was a site supporter for 6 months & it ran out 3 months ago. So far, I'm still waiting to see how things turn out before I feel comfortable passing any of God's money to this site when I see how much harm it's doing in different ways....

Hi Nadine!

I was actually just thinking the same thing recently. My SS doesn't run out until December and I doubt very much that I will renew it...I think there are just so many better causes out there right now, people who need it so much more than Erwin.

I became a supporter as we began to work on this definition stuff, but i was hoping to show my good will for this place by doing so.

Personally my continued support will largely be dictated by changes we can effect. If changes can be effected to allow us to properly conduct outreach, i probobly will. If not, then i agree with Free2be, there are much better causes and Erwin can get his money from those who want to stamp out christianity, or those who just desire to sociallize on a big board. Not that im against socializing, i am all for fellowship, but i see that as secondary to why we are here.

Frankly, I like the benefits of the site support, I like being able to come here to CC and fellowship with others and visiting the other congregational forums, I like getting great advice from the guys in the Computer forum, I like hearing the different opinions on the news in that forum.

I have different expectations of this place, my support isn't much~I spend more a week on coffee

than I do for a month's worth of support here and think I'm gettin' a good bargain.

As far as "contributing" to something bad or evil, happens everytime I go to WalMart or the grocery store or use the company phone, supporting some element that isn't Christian.

Erwin has given each subforum ability it make its own rules, and if that's what we have, then I'm satisfied and grateful for that.

I am concerned that staff are being told that if they believe that Recovery is to be the focus that they are rejected from participation and harrassed, not just by members but by fellow staff.

I am concerned that posts in that area appear to reject recovery itself. When someone on staff discussed the fact that is is not good to worship Satan, their post was reported. Look at our Reports. In the report, the staff member is corrected by another staffer for making this statement!

Never donated, wouldn't do it now. I was thinking about it before all the changes but now I consider it a site that perverts the Gospel more than anything.

Mine expires in two days. I don't plan on renewing, but I'll miss the supporter features.

I may not be around much after my status expires. I've had my doubts about sticking around ever since 7-7-7. As I just said in another post, maybe it's time to get back to the real world!

As the site currently is, by its very nature sowing discord among brethren, there's no way I'd give my money. Not a chance. You don't have to look much to see that this site actually hurts evangelism and the walk of many Christians...

As the site is going right now after all the changes, I totally agree that more harm is being done in many ways. Probly too many to list here. I just cannot believe what I'm seeing allowed in "God's" name.

case in point, I JUST read a post from the main ND section that has this statement in it:

Can I just tell you how damaging that could be to people? This is from a "christian" in the NonDenom. section.

So I cannot agree more with you. God only knows the level of damage being done here.

yipes HD.... I should comment that someone paid my site supporter status out of the blue too.
I was shocked. So if anyone is wondering why I'd start a thread and say I didn't plan on supporting here since my membership ran out... and I'm a supporter now -- now you know why.
I dont know how you find out if people are banned, but that's terrible- I pray it's nobody I know and care about here; obviously they have a kind heart to give a gift like that.
