  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Folklore here! The first thing you need to know about me is that I'm terrible at introductions. Drawing, dancing, and reading are my strong points, but I never know what to say in intros. Hope I won't annoy you too much, lol.

:hi:

Welcome to Singles. Look forward to seeing you around!

Hello folks — and goodbye. I never did intend to stick around for long enough to get really attached to anyone here, or to become "well-known" by anyone.

I'm going to part from here with a statement that may seem controversial, yet it is true:
God wants me to seek a non-Christian for marriage. It sounds very bizarre but it's true. And I know it's Him because every time I've heard what I believed to be the voice of the Spirit, He's told me things that turned out to be Biblical, even when I didn't know it beforehand until I read them in the Scriptures afterwards; He has done great things in terms of miraculously healing health problems I've had and giving me physical and mental strength and endurance and much more besides. There is a post elsewhere on this site where I go into the details at length; it was written in response to a person being arrogant towards me. But yes, I have got this on good authority from the One who says that Jesus Christ is unmistakeably God, no questions asked: He has given me many years of special training to enable me to keep my faith effortlessly in such a situation. I will meet a woman who is not yet a Christian herself, but who respects Christianity and respects my right to practice it; I will be used as a catalyst for her salvation. Sort of like the whole "Hosea & Gomer" bit except the outcome isn't going to suck as much. Beyond that, I'm kind of awaiting more instructions. However, I don't expect this woman to just fall into my lap (although if she does I hope we're both wearing clothes because otherwise it might be really lewd :tonguewink:), and I don't believe in any sort of unbiblical "soulmate" type of crap about "One Special Person™" when God has created us with the ability to be compatible with several different people and it all comes down to the luck of the draw.... I've been told NOT to seek out someone who's already a Christian for marriage, even though initially I wanted to do it, due to the following reasons:
1 - I have a very bad history of interpersonal relationships with other Christians which have involved my being on the receiving end of (a) false accusations regarding the intentions behind my words and actions, (b) having my words twisted, and (c) constantly walking on eggshells, and I'm basically kind of "traumatised" as a result, and am in a dangerous place spiritually where one more truly unpleasant situation with another person who's already a longstanding Christian could shipwreck my faith.
2 - I have failed to fulfil the obligation to bring a single soul to Christ in almost 18 years due to my social phobia and agoraphobia and other stuff, so He's gonna orchestrate a situation for me where He's gonna bring just one person to me who's suitable for me and whom I'll be able to get close enough to emotionally for it to actually work.

Dunno exactly when or how it's gonna happen except that it has something to do with a website for meeting people and making friends and stuff. I'm not privy to the specifics yet. The only thing I do know is that when I talk to the woman I have to ask at some point what she thinks of Christianity and Christians. If she says something to the effect of, "I don't really know much about it but they seem like nice people," that's my green light.

Off to scramble my password to somethin' else so I can't return here. Most of y'all are pretty cool though, by the looks of it. Oh hey! Here's a fun and happy song:

Written and produced by a dude called Tsunku — laryngectomy patient/laryngeal cancer survivor extraordinaire. Dude's a legend. This is his first song in English. Cute girls too, eh? One of 'em's a Christian actually. Girl called Haruna Ogata. Favourite school subjects are art and Bible studies. Good kid.

Anyway, I'm off! Peace out, adios, sayonara, au revoir and all that.

~R

Welcome.

How do you reconcile this with being unequally yoked?

Scrambled my password yesterday but then realised I had a few loose ends to tie up so I made a new one so that I could come back to do that.

To answer your question: If you can't figure it out from reading everything I wrote above instead of just picking out ONE half of ONE sentence then I can't help you. But I can tell you that, even though the person you are as a Christian might find it hard to believe, the Spirit told me that the early First Century Jewish version of people like you forbade healing on the Sabbath on the grounds that healing was a form of "work". So that should give you a clue.

Read between the lines: there's no point in being free from the Mosaic Law if you're only going to take the NT rules and regulations and use them to create a whole new type of legal system. The letter of it vs the spirit of it, you know? Get with the program. [LOL]

In any case, I wouldn't be doing it if it wasn't necessary in my case. If you want to know why it's necessary in my case, ask Him — unless you're a Cessationist, in which case asking Him probably won't work. :tonguewink:

It will work out best for everyone involved, anyway — and I have it on good authority that any woman I get will end up becoming Christian. So I'm not worried. He hasn't let me down before when He's told me He'd do stuff for me. All I have to do is keep my end of a deal that's basically a piece of cake.

Bye!

I can only go by what Scripture says which is clear about being unequally yoked.

Ultimately it's your decision and between you and God, but I'd recommend consulting your Pastor about it(who, frankly, if he's worth his salt will stick with Scripture and advise against it as well).

Many men have said "Scripture says... But I say". Beware of such men.
