We have a similar thread over at the Left Behind Messageboard. It's been going for almost a year!
This thread is for anyone who's single to come and rant (or rave  ) about their single status, and for all of us who haven't found That Special Someone yet to support each other when being alone just gets tough. Also, any advice and encouragement from you non-single people is more than welcome! ;)
So....share your stories, tell us why you like/don't like being single, and enjoy yourself!

this should probably go in advice forum but i thought it would fir here. My sister is 47 and never married. She was mentally ill due to a bio-chemical imbalence for many years and is now doing much better. For a while last year she dated this man of about 64 !! who has also never been married. He told her it wouldn t be serious because he dosen t want to tie himself down to one woman and he has been dating others too. The problem is my sister is terrified that she will never find anyone else or get married and is desperately trying to hold onto this man. She has even started going back to church so she can see him and talk to him. I think she should give up on him and move onto someone else. Any suggestions.? There has been no sex involved yet.

My love is now 14, and Im 21. Were both waiting till she is out of school before we pursue anything...
heres a brief story i posted in another thread:

The history goes way way back. My cousin Jess introduced me to Crissy and we began talking and finally the day I would meet Crissy and her family came. I politley drove to the house, knocked on the door, and was welcomed in. At that time Crissy was still getting ready so her parents and I had 'the talk' if ya know what I mean-- about that time Crissy had finished getting ready and was there in the chair across from me. A few minutes passed and her paents had finished 'the talk' and walked out the Michelle. I was in shock-- neither could i take my eyes off of her, So her parents introduce me to Crissys younger sister and then she and I shook hands... (zap) we were both standing there breathless and stareing each other in the eyes...
it was a picture perfect moment

Sometimes it's hard to be single still for my parents would bug me with the "I want grandchildren syndrome" especially if you have that special someone already.

I do not want to get married until i'm prepared and ready to face the challenges of married life. And i do not want to make a descision that i will regret later on.

I hate when i hear my friends doing that to their kids--grandchildren i mean. I ahve already told my daughter when and if she has kids will be up to her. She is the one who will be raising them not me. Our children belong to God not usand should not be used to fullfill our dreams/desires.

I am 20 and I have only been in one real relationship, and although I admit that I would like that type of relationship, I know that God has someone out there who is perfect for me, and I don't need anyone but him. He is my Redeemer and my Savior. My Abba and my Friend. I don't want to make something happen. I have several guy friends, most whom I consider the same as my girlfriends, but there are a few and sometimes I wonder, God are they what you have planned for me. And then I remember that I am almost a Senior in College and I will be leaving soon. I will be going away and then I would have a long-distance relationship, and God knows that I can't handle that. So I suck it up and let God know what I want. A man who is on fire for God and who is humble and willing to be broken for the kingdom, even if it means laying his life down. God knows what I want and even more, what I need, and he will provide. I mean he knows to feed the birds, how much more does he know to give me what I need when I need it. I will wait! I am not scared! God will provide!

Amen to that RayNay - He sure will, no matter how long it may seem to take ;)

I'm single, and will likely remain that way for a long time - I've gone through some tough stuff involving guys, although I've never been in a relationship, and a really close friend of mine has too. Both of us are kinda "anti-guy" in that we think of the male gender as responsible for what's happened, even though they were just a couple of bad apples.

I know it's not fair to guys, and I know there really are nice guys out there but it doesn't change the fact that I just plain distrust guys in general. :sigh: Doubt I'll ever get married, but God must have a use for me single :)

I've been divorced for about four years now from an abusive non-Christian man. Singlehood has its trying moments, but none of them are NEARLY as bad as being stuck in a bad marriage!

I may never meet "The One," but even if I never do, I will be happier living solo than I would have been living in that kind of pain. At least I am able to breathe easy and freely in my own space now...

In His Grip,

~~Cheryl

I'm really impressed by the positive attitudes I'm seeing here! :) All too often, I hear single friends complaining about their lack of a relationship. I know it's hard to wait for the relationship God has planned for you, but it's well worth it!

To the singles here, are you still living with your parents house?

I'm still living with my parents(maybe part of the problem).Call it a cultural thing but im itching to have my own independence.

What do you people think about this?

yep, i love living with my family. I get to be silly once awhile with mom and my brother :D
as for independence... i'll have heaps of indepence once my sibling gets married... which really isn't that far away as years go by by an eye blink.
no way, i want to treasure this family moment as much as i can.

I'm still living in my parents' house, but then, I don't finish high school for another two years or so, and it would be rather inconvenient living elsewhere with my Mom being my teacher......

But I do know what you mean about itching to have your own independance. :) That's what my barn's for...;)
