You're lucky jpc, I'd love to have my kid full time.

Yes I am. And their Mom isn't that bad. My kids get to see her a lot. I don't want them to grow up thinking I kept them from their mom....so I let her keep them every other week as long as she acts right.

Yes-indeed she is adorable!!! She's grown since though. Best dog...they tend to be a little hyper especially when people first come to the house-but otherwise great dogs

Well, my biological father isn't exactly the best person in the world and I don't have much of a relationship with him. I wanted to when I was younger, but that passed as I became a teenager. My stepfather was there for me and he was a major influence on my development, more so than my own mother. My father and I were in a major dispute at my grandfather's 80th birthday party for reasons I won't get into. We've reconciled since then, but I describe my relationship with him as polite.

I certainly realize not all biological fathers are that way. I've seen plenty of men be great dads in married and single parent households. I've seen horrible biological mothers and good biological mothers. No parenting situation is perfect, but it really requires a lot of effort to make an attempt to raise your children and educate them on the basics in life. My stepfather and mother were able to do these things, but my father is still incapable of that even with his other children.
