  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

not consciously, but i still make choices in dreams, do we not....ie....im on top of a building, i can either choose to jump and see if i can fly, or remain on the roof...so in a way, we still exert some control in our dreams, sometimes anyways, do we not?

if someone has a sinful dream, or does something sinful in the dream, does that count as a real sin, or not? what if someone else in the dream sins, does it make it your sin, because its your dream?

Only if you willingly try to control it further. It's possible, but nothing I would worry about.

Some dream are warnings to expose areas of weakness that we need to fast and pray and apply Godly wisdom about. James explained about sin.

Jam 1:12¶Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Jam 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Jam 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Jam 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Jam 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

Dreams are, more-or-less, products of our subconscious sorting itself out. It's sort of like a file cabinet and all our thoughts and experiences are being filed, sorted, and stored and this is experienced as dreaming.

It's of course possible that a dream can reveal something that may be bothering us at a subconscious level. If you think something like that may be happening, it certainly can't hurt to offer it to God in prayer (prayer is never a bad idea anyway).

That said, if something happened in your subconscious and it's now troubling you then pray about it. However, don't be wrought with needless guilt over a dream. It's just a dream.

God's pretty smart, He is after all the Almighty, so we can be pretty confident that He knows what's going on inside your head better than you do, and that things that happen in your dreams are just dreams.

Our God is not a tyrannical taskmaster, He is a loving and compassionate Father, a gentle and kind Shepherd, and amazing Friend.

I wouldn't think you make the choice in some rational way.

If you do jump, sometimes you can fly.

Like some mentioned, dreams are symbolic language. They're not always easy to understand the meaning.
