Tornadoes are one thing I worry about now living in Edmonton. They don't get them often here but when they do go thru the city they're pretty destructive. I'm a leetle bit obsessed with them (think they look beautiful) but find them terrifying at the same time. I'm glad you're okay!
THe ozone generated in a volotile storm IS a rush by itself. I remember when I was a kid a tornado one came right over our house. Right in front of me it hit a horse barn accross the road. The barn exploded and the funnel headed right towards our house. I was excited but frozen to the spot as I was watching it. Dad grabbed me and hurried all of us to the basement where we got on our knees and started to pray as it headed directly towards us. At the last second it "jumped" over our house. Houses on either side of us had extensive damage and the one behind us disentegrated. There wasn't a shingle on our house disturbed. God is good. The next sunday the pastor stood in the pulpit and related what had happened to them at their house. He said that there were two full trash cans in the back of the house. The funnel picked up both of the cans, dumped the trash on their house and then put them down on the front lawn with the lid back on the one can! Truth is stranger than fiction.
