According to the teachings of Jesus, the Sabbath is a litteral 24hr day.
According to the teachings of Jesus, doing work on the Sabbath is not a violation of the Sabbath in itself.
According to the New Testament, you don't need a church building or a synagogue to keep the Sabbath holy.
According to the teachings of Jesus, the seventh day is the Sabbath day of which He says He is Lord of. This makes the seventh day the Lord's day, not the first day.
First day texts:
John 20:19 interpretation: The disciples gathered on the first day to celebrate Jesus' resurrection.
Rebuttal: It was on the first day when the disciples gathered but it wasn't to celebrate Jesus' resurrection, but rather, they got together because they feared the Jews. As a matter of fact, they didn't even know Jesus was resurrected yet, that's why they were hiding from the Jews because they feared they would be next to be put to death.
Acts 20:7 interpretation: The disciples broke bread on the first day which means the Sabbath was changed.
Rebuttal: They gathered together at sun set on Sabbath evening, which was after the Sabbath closed, not as a Sabbath change, but rather, as a going away fellowship because Paul was leaving the next day. They even fellowshiped all night because Paul would be leaving in the morning, which would have been Sunday morning. At which time Paul took a boat and walked a long journey on Sunday. If Sunday was the new day for worship Paul would have been in church.
1 Corintians 16:2 interpretation: They took a church offering on Sunday.
Rebuttal: No church offering taken on Sunday. Paul advised the people to use the first day of the week to lay aside supplies at home, as opposed to the Sabbath day, because he knew it would be time consuming and labor intensive to gather the needed supplies that he would be picking up on his return.
