  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just celebrated my 9 month anniversary with my boyfriend on Saturday (the 8th). Does anybody else still wish their boyfriend/girlfriend happy anniversary every month or am I a freak? lol ^_^

we used to for about the first year but after being together for almost 3.5 years it gets kinda old. most of the time i do still notice our anniversary date every month though, it's just not a big deal anymore :)

nope don't do that, but then again we never have. The only one we really recognized was one year, and that was on valentines day. We did notice the first "6-monthiversary" but my cousin's wedding was on that day so we just kinda said "oh ya..." and he gave me a little bracelet. Our year-and-a-half we didn't remember it was, until the end of the evening, when I noticed the date. Now we're engaged so I don't think we'll really be celebrating any "anniversary" things until our wedding (in June). I'm sure we'll do something for Valentine's day, but probably won't call it an anniversary.

I think it's cute that some people recognize monthiversaries, but for me I think it would get really repetitive, living month-to-month in the relationship rather than seeing it as a long-term thing. (not saying you do, just that's how I would feel)

Yeah I think we were more into counting every month up to six months (the whole half year one lol). Now we usually are like oh it just happens to be the 8th... shows us that we are truly happy being with one another. I think after the one year anniversary we'll probably not do it as often... probably 1.5 years after that. I think we both try showing each other that we love one another not only on our anniversary (monthly or yearly) but every day.

And it doesn't even have to be something major... it can be him calling me after a very busy day to tell me that he loves me or me sending him a quick IM telling him about my day and reminding him how I adore him. The simply little things like that are probably the best part of being in a loving relationship.

Okay, I'll admit that I'm a dork... I have a countdown feature on my cell phone, so I also know (down the minute) of how long I've been dating Chris. haha I know down to the minute because when I said yes to him I also looked over to the clock. ^_^ Major dork!!! haha
