memphisXwasted said:awesome!!! have you heard the soundtrack to requiem for a dream?
nicodemus said:I've actually never heard them before, but a few of my friends rant & rave about them. I'm going to see the Kronos Quartet tonight and they're playing a piece by Sigur Ros.
The show was incredible. Kronos Quartet is an unconventional string quartet. It is two violins, violia and cello. However, they play amplified, use electronic effects, samples, etc. In addition to Sigur Ros, they also played stuff by Charles Mingus and then stuff by modern composers. They even played some Turkish folk music. They're very eccentric, but amazing. Go see them if you ever get the chance.Morrissey said:Whenever you get back please, do tell me what Kronos is like. The only time I've ever heard them is when they guested on a couple Dave Matthews Band tracks on their Before These Crowded Streets album. Is their music really good? Very classical sounding or what?
Thank you.![]()
