• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

For the past two weeks I've been really, let's say sad. I feel dull and like everythings pointless. I have ADHD but for some reason I feel so Blah and not perky. It's not a fun feeling. I was taking Strattera, but I'm off the medicine now...sooo I don't know whats Wrong with me. I have this Constant urge to run away. My Life at home isn't good and just blah.

Any Advice or Comments/Agreements you Have Feel Free to Post.

When life at home is not that good life can be painful and hard sometimes. This is where we can jusy hang into God, knowing He cares, understands, and is there. My home life was very painful, crushingly so at times. But God has been there through the pain, and I leaned a lot which I have been able to use throughout my Christian life.

Bless you
John

Did you go off your meds under doctors direction? If not, please call the doctors office and make an appointment.

If the doctor did direct you to go off of it, you might give it three weeks of being off and if you don't have improved mood than go back to the doctor and talk to them.

There is a strong connection between ADHD and depression as adulthood comes on. That blah feeling might not be depression but you might talk to the doctor if it does not go away after three weeks.

Excersize in which you move your body at your own natural pace such as swimming laps, running, jogging or walking has been shown to improve mood. If you have health concern talk to your doctor first. Otherwise try 20 minutes of this five days a week and each week add five more minutes until you are walking 45-60 mins a day. That can do wonders for blah moods!

I know exactly how you feel. I have ADHD and depression. While you only have ADHD, get yourself checked for depression as well. Also, I have found that sometimes the blah-ness will go away once you start doing something, and that life is only blah until you actually gather the energy to do something, whether it be reading or video games or even just taking a run. DO NOT just sit in your blahhood and pity yourself. DO talk to friends, try and get going. Learn to do something new, like play a new card game. It can be hard to do, but it's worth it.

I'm praying for you!
