So, when Jesus answered ye must be born again, he should also have added the divine liturgy to that statement? The same with baptism huh? But these are another topic all together. Back to my OP. Can it be found in scripture where it is written that scripture alone is not sufficient for all doctrine, teaching etc. ? That is the topic of this thread.

God bless

That scripture has already been given.

Mat 18:17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell [it] unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

Maybe the saved often express their salvation through the use of an anaphora even if it isn't the direct cause of the saved "state" ? Maybe God asked Christians to make use of one ? There are countless other reasons for doing something. Why pick "does it directly necessitate our salvation" as the only one worth asking?

Personally I believe that God saves people. Nothing on our part impels or convinces Him to do so. For that reason I would answer "no" to your question on most any topic or practice you could possibly ask it about it. "Is it necessary that we read the bible in order to be saved?" No. ... etc... It's possible that making use of an anaphora in the service could be important even if it doesn't directly cause God to save us. Just like reading the Bible is important despite it not directly causing god to save us.

The Anaphora ~

Jhn 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

And the Church is?
A building with club members?
Or people with the Holy Spirit?

The Chruch of Jerusalem
The Church of Antioch
The Church of Alexandria

Bodies of people where "The deposit of faith" was left.

etc etc etc...

Good. That's what we need to do instead of drifting. There doesn't appear to be such a verse. At least I'd think someone would have thought of it by now if there were.

Oh, I disagree completely

So... these are not Churches then? Not communities of Christians?

The Church of Antioch was the first to be called by that name according to scripture.

All the Apostolic Churches who have come before you agree... and yet you know better?

These are communities of Christians. And they came before us.

Actually, and according to the Bible, it was the believing people in Antioch who were first called "Christian."

No kidding? What did they believe?

Yep!

People have issues with it though

It's like... think for your self.. what is more logical?

Obviously relying on scripture then

To me, it makes no sense at all to put ANYTHING on the same plane as the word of God, and certainly not because different people interpret scripture differently. If it is the word of God--and almost everyone says that they think it is--then studying to understand it properly is the thing to do, not bypass it in favor of something of human origin that's also interpreted differently by different churches and individuals!!

And you have not as you put it, been able to show from Scripture, where it says scripture alone is not sufficient.

God bless
Yes I did Paul says as much to keep tradition, the Bible alone has given the world a mess
