And Paul got his traditions from where. Hmmmm. Oh yea, SCRIPTURE!
You'll have to prove that. The Bible alone is a myth no one uses it alone even you. You came here with your ideas of what the Bible says and call it your truth, others come here with their own take on the Bible and say that is their truth and tell you you are wrong. Utter chaos. No where does Scripture say use "the Bible alone and me" to determine things. The idea of Bible alone is all one needs is not historical and developed in the 1500 hundreds through man understanding. Go ahead check historic Christianity you'll never find Bible alone being advocated

Scripture alone has given man a myriad of denominations
This is a problem for one from one of the 3 or 4 orthodoxies?

No where does Scripture say use "the Bible alone and me" to determine things...
Simply continuing to deny it doesn't make it true, but I give you props for enthusiasm & consistent effort in spite of the facts.

You have yet to show me in scripture where it says not to use scripture alone. Everything we need to know of salvation is in there; everything we need to know about how to live as Christians is in there; everything we need to know about God is in there. What else do we need? NOTHING!

Since no one has been able to show where scripture alone is not enough, according to scripture, I ask that this thread now be closed. Thank you for all the post.

God bless

You keep say that, Scripture alone has given man a myriad of denominations. Everyone says Scripture is all we need but they forget that each person gets their own "truth" from Scripture. If Scripture alone were true Christians would be united and there would be no relativism is Christianity
There a multitude of Christian churches and sects that openly hold to the idea that scripture and extra scriptural tradition are authoritative. Every one of them has their own tradition just like every "Bible alone" denomination has their own interpretation. Neither concept has brought "Christian unity."

You have not shown where Scripture says to use it alone. If you knew history you would know Scripture alone is a tradition of man started in 1500's.

Heck, the only thing that seemed to have brought Christian unity throughout history has been the power to quash dissent and persecute people for believing otherwise. That's why you might find temporary bastions of "Christian unity" in certain medieval kingdoms for example. As soon as their political power lessens the unity starts to break up and you find "heresies" like the Cathars or Albigensians popping up. Again the balance of power shifts and these "heretics" are violently "dealt with"... and so on. Same thing with the actions of some of the later Protestant theocracies.

There has been Christian unity throughout history in both East and West, yes some disagreements were there but they could be worked out. The true disunity came in 1500 which divided Christianity into whatever man made it.

orthodoxy

OR'THODOXY, n. [Gr. right, true, and opinion, from to think.] 1. Soundness of faith; a belief in the genuine doctrines taught in the Scriptures.
Basil bears full and clear testimony to Gregory's orthodoxy.
2. Consonance to genuine scriptural doctrines; as the orthodoxy of a creed.

How many does one religion need?

No there weren't. That is a myth until 1054 there was one united Church that spilt that year because of a disagreement after that until 1500 in the West the Church was united until Luther followed his own path and the East has never been divided. Many myths have developed that says there were always other churches to justify their church but they are all myths.

The break between the east and west churches began in the 4th century and there was a schism in the 7th century. Rome occupied Constantinople and declared an end to the schism but that was just lip service. The final schism happened in 1054. You really should study church history.
