Yeah this will bear the fruit of the spirit, I'm sure. [/sarcasm]
To my knowledge, no one suggests removing those passages. Rather, some of us think that the intent of the passages is largely misunderstood. Explaining what I mean is not permitted in CF, so this discussion is bound to be pretty one-sided.

Should we mark out any passages of Scripture that condemn homosexuality?
Sarcasm brother, sarcasm.
An impossible proposition. The bible says nothing about homosexuality. It does, however, talk about homosexual intercourse and homosexual lust. The idea of homo or hetero sexuality is a modern concept entirely foreign to the ancient world and unknown to the bible.
You might as well mark out passages of Scripture that condemn fetal implants...
or cloning...
or test-tube babies...
Nothing new under the sun actually. An impossible proposition. The bible says nothing about homosexuality. It does, however, talk about homosexual intercourse and homosexual lust. The idea of homo or hetero sexuality is a modern concept entirely foreign to the ancient world and unknown to the bible.
No. We should know though that the Bible condemns the act of homosexuality not the person caught up in the disease
Amen but I don't think that it's so much that so many are 'obsessed' withThe Bible says what it says. It should not be altered for the convenience or whim of humankind. That said, why are so many so obsessed with homosexuality? Can we not leave that between God and homosexuals?
But do you make parades honoring your sins?As a straight man who is a sinner, I have a lot more things to be worried about to try to get right in my life before I devote time to what may be other people's sins.
Are you serious?I expect there may be other sinners on this forum as well. Why don't we question altering Bible verses that have to do with OUR sins?![]()
Yes, can we?Should we mark out any passage of Scripture that condones slavery?
Slavery is not politically correct, and seeming to condone it could offend some people.
I think that fasting is a better plan.Interestingly, I learned that the Catholic Church really advocates celibacy for all peoples (not just homosexuals) and that a well know Saint (can't remember who) taught that the only atonement for breaking this celibacy is to go forth and multiply.
Its not "politically correct" we could offend some people!
