Sure.
How strongly do you believe in your position?
Let proposition P1 = Every Christian today is required to keep the weekly Saturday Sabbaths.
P2 = Not every Christian today is required to keep the weekly Saturday Sabbaths.
Between 0 and 10, how much weight do you put on each of the above propositions?
Are we to keep commandments? Yes ..... it's the 4th commandment ... we are to pursue righteous. Most everyone will agree in keeping the 10 commandments (other than the 4th? - makes no sense ) .... again .... Jesus is our example .... He kept all commandments perfectly ..... He is the perfect model of what being human (as God originally created) is to look like.
We are to understand the law is good ..... it is good because it shows us the perfect character of God ... which is love.
We keep the commandments out of love .... love is not a law .... love is a principle
Jesus says: “If you love Me, keep My commandments … He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me … If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.”
John 14:15-24.
Nehemiah 9:13
“Then You came down on Mount Sinai,
And spoke with them from heaven;
You gave them just ordinances
and true laws,
Good statutes and
commandments.
Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy .... that day which God created from the beginning and made it holy (set apart) from the other days.
Can man change a day that God created? no .... man can only replace a day with another by doing so ... that does not change what God created from the beginning. Can man make anything holy? no .... only God can make something holy.
So ... the keeping of the 1st day (sunday) is a man made day ... "called/designated holy" by man ... not God
He didn't make the 1st day holy .... He made the 7th day holy from creation (before sin entered the world)
Commandments are divine; they are handed down by God, not man, and they should be treated as such. Jesus makes it clear that love is what is required from us. We are to love God and love each other, which is easy in concept, but much harder in practice. Love isn't a suggestion, but a requirement. Love isn't forced ....
Are we required to love? Yes ... but we can choose not to.
The reason the 7th day Sabbath is constantly "debated" is because satan hates it .... He can't change what God originally created (nor can we) .... what satan constantly does is distort the truth .... and the replacement of the 7th day is one of those distortions .... a lie .... not to be believed.
