Let proposition P1 = Every Christian today is required to keep the weekly Saturday Sabbaths.
P2 = Not every Christian today is required to keep the weekly Saturday Sabbaths.

Between 0 and 10, how much weight do you put on each of the above propositions?
It's the 4th commandment .... we are required to keep the commandments (out of love) ... the 4th can not be separated from the 10 (although some people do this) ... it was not changed by God (P1). Jesus is God ... He kept the 7th day Sabbath (He don't break His laws)

Reminder .... if you want to continue discussion about the 7th Day Sabbath (the Lord's day) there is a specific forum

All threads which debate the Sabbath as 7th day or Sunday will be moved by staff to Sabbath & the Law forum. That forum was set up for that purpose. Threads discussing the Sabbath in a congregational forums need to be in line with that congregation's beliefs.

There are many who believe "the Lord's day" is referring to the 7th day Sabbath.

Do you believe that your cell phone works?
My cell phone has nothing to do with anything .... it's a material communication device. Our relationship with the Lord is spiritual not material.

It don't work all the time ... I have no belief that it will or will not work ... it's a mechanical device subject to possible failure for various reasons.

4th commandment ... 7th day Sabbath .... Jesus kept it .... we are to follow in His steps.

1 Peter 2:21 ESV

For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.

Commandments are to be kept out of love.

John 14:15 ESV

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. (willingly keep them)

Pretty simple :)

We will stumble here and there .... but we are to pursue righteous and the work of the Holy Spirit will help us along the way.

2 Timothy 2:22 ESV

So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

Matthew 5:6 ESV

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Are we to keep commandments? Yes ..... it's the 4th commandment ... we are to pursue righteous. Most everyone will agree in keeping the 10 commandments (other than the 4th? - makes no sense ) .... again .... Jesus is our example .... He kept all commandments perfectly ..... He is the perfect model of what being human (as God originally created) is to look like.

We are to understand the law is good ..... it is good because it shows us the perfect character of God ... which is love.

We keep the commandments out of love .... love is not a law .... love is a principle

Jesus says: “If you love Me, keep My commandments … He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me … If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” John 14:15-24.

Nehemiah 9:13

“Then You came down on Mount Sinai,
And spoke with them from heaven;
You gave them just ordinances and true laws,
Good statutes and commandments.

Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy .... that day which God created from the beginning and made it holy (set apart) from the other days.

Can man change a day that God created? no .... man can only replace a day with another by doing so ... that does not change what God created from the beginning. Can man make anything holy? no .... only God can make something holy.

So ... the keeping of the 1st day (sunday) is a man made day ... "called/designated holy" by man ... not God

He didn't make the 1st day holy .... He made the 7th day holy from creation (before sin entered the world)

Commandments are divine; they are handed down by God, not man, and they should be treated as such. Jesus makes it clear that love is what is required from us. We are to love God and love each other, which is easy in concept, but much harder in practice. Love isn't a suggestion, but a requirement. Love isn't forced ....

Are we required to love? Yes ... but we can choose not to.

The reason the 7th day Sabbath is constantly "debated" is because satan hates it .... He can't change what God originally created (nor can we) .... what satan constantly does is distort the truth .... and the replacement of the 7th day is one of those distortions .... a lie .... not to be believed. (P1)
