Should Sundays still be a day of rest ?

There are billions following traditions of men opposed to this, opposed to Jesus.
If you find anyone obeying Jesus, honor them and keep them in your prayers daily.

2 Thess 2:15 15 So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter. RSVCE

It is not whether shops should be open on Sunday (or Saturday if you prefer) but about what we are willing to do or not do on our Sabbath day. We cannot expect the world to conform to us, but we are not obligated to conform to the world.

There are many Jews who's day of rest is on a Saturday.

Should shops be open on a Sunday ?
Do you shop on a Sunday ?

A few years back in Wales I remember what was called a 'Dry Sunday' where the pubs were not allowed to open but as time went by this changed.
Today on Sundays anything goes.

So what do you guys think ?
There is no command in the Bible that week-day-1, the first day of the week, Sunday - should be a rest day.

The Baptist Confession of Faith - section 19 and section 22 paragraph 7 says that in the Bible the seventh day -- the last day of the week - Saturday was the Sabbath until the cross. We can see that in the actual Bible. Then follows an assumption in section 22 that the day was changed -- but no Bible text says Sabbath was changed to the first day of the week.

The same problem shows up in the Westminster Confession of Faith - sections 19 and 21.

The Catholic church has a book called "The Faith Explained" where they argue that there is no Bible basis for the change. They hold to that change out of tradition.

"being a tradition" is not what makes something right or wrong.

Mark 7:6-13 is an example of Jesus exposing the elements of false tradition

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.

The quotation I gave was qualified: "which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter." "Taught by us" refers to the deposit of the faith that we were given by the Apostles, both orally and by Holy Scripture.

indeed. I just wanted to include the fact that in the church of Christ's day, and the Apostle's day - there were both good and bad traditions. But as you point out , the first century Apostles were not promoting bad tradition. Even though bad tradition was in fact coming into the first century Christian church as we see in Acts 15 and in 1 Timothy 1 and in 3 John 1 and in Jude 1 and Titus 1 and ...

But the true apostles were not promoting it.

Almost no one accepts the apostle's teachings and traditions, the pure Scripture, the Words of Jesus . The traditions of men in error have been granted prominence.
Mark 7:7-13 shows the top level religious teachers of Jesus' day - doing that very thing.
But they would not call it "the mere traditions of men" -- they would call it "infallible holy tradition"
