• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Should I take the blame?

I've been in a long going dispute over what happened and what really happened. I've told the truth constantly and never called anyone a liar whereas my opponant (for lack of a better word) has simply said that I'm lying. He doesn't even give his own version as to what happened. He just says I'm lying.

Now people on "his side" (again for lack of a better word) are starting to join him and say that I'm lying too. There is a Christian man involved in this and he says he's upset because he doesn't know who to believe.

I've decided that maybe it would be best to say "You know what? I am lying. I sat down and made the whole thing up. Come talk to me when the truth comes out and tell me that I'm still lying then" and gladly take the blame for lies I never told. I will then do nothing but pray for God to prove me right and for Him to give me justice rather than seek it myself.

Is this a Christian approach or not?

I've seen this so many times, I am shocked, utterly shocked that it happens :(

NO you should not now lie and say you did lie. God forbids lying so that would be wrong.

When the truth is in doubt and you're the one telling it - it does seem pointless, however you must remember that in the end, when all the dust settles, the truth is the last thing left standing. Is stanidng by the truth an easy task? Nope, not a bit, but you can take refuge in the fact that God is your defender.

I've seen this happen in churches for crying out loud on a level that borders utter ridiculouslness (sp?). God has called me to minister to someone in the same position as you. I've share with them to let their fruit speak for itself - and ironically enough things are slowly turning their way.

You needn't defend yourself from the rooftops, though that's tempting no doubt (I know I would feel that way). If you are asked about it, tellt he truth. If no one asks, say nothing. Let God do all the talking for you in your silence.

People who do this have issues no doubt and given enough time, all this will come to light anyway with the help of god. All will be revealed, trust in that.

Walk in power and love.

Thanks Nowhereville.

I didn't think of that before. Why should I commit the sin of lying about the truth that liars are desperately trying to cover?

You ain't lying about wanting to defend myself from the rooftops. I've been doing that for so long and it's just background noise now. I guess you can say I almost got obessed with it. I think I will now take the silent approach you suggested.

In a way I'm glad people are turning away from me and calling me a liar. Because I'm just leaving it to God to let the truth prevail. Like you said, when the dust settles only the truth is left standing.

hey i can understand about what your going trhough but look at it this way. if you know you're right and if God knows you're right then theres now for you to tell everyone that your telling the truth. sometimes things are actually better left unsaid. Also trust God and he will honor you and all things will work out for good. good luck god bless

Do not admit guilt for something you didn't do--that would be a dumb move. You didn't give details about the situation, I would simply try to not be around the accusers. It sounds like his friends are taking his side automatically due to loyalty. Find some of your friends to support you until the facts come out. If they don't, and you are not being harmed in a tangible way, forget about it; so they think you are a liar--people can think lots of things about other people whether they are true or not. If they were your friends before, I would stop being their friend--do you want to be friends with liars? Hang around positive people who tell the truth.

Thanks guys. I've taken the silent approach and I don't speak of it anymore. Since then the Christian who said he didn't know who to believe has said to me that he knows i've not lied and that he doesn't believe i'm a liar. he said i should just let God be God and that revenge is the Lord's so I'm putting all my faith in that.

Thanks for your support everyone. This forum is the best.
