• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

The past is the past bro. You made a mistake, you repented. There is no reason you shouldn't be loved. If your gf is fine with it then dont' worry about it. I know you feel bad about the past, i know I feel bad about my past, but there is nothing we can do to take that back so all you can do is move on and love your girlfriend and save yourself until you are married to her.

Don't worry about it. If your girlfriend is willing to love you despite it (as she should be) then everything's fine. Just be sure and make the first time with her something to remember, and I bet she'll forget all about you not being a virgin at the time.

May I reply in an unbiased reply? :)

2 Corinthians 5:17:

For if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone and the new has come!

You are now a Christian, a little Christ, in Christ. See that? The old is gone. It does not say it went on vacation, it says the old has packed it's bags, took the cat, let the door seal shut behind it after it said Sianara! It's gone, never to return again. So don't invite it back in! You said it yourself: you've changed. Your slate has been wiped clean of anything in your past and you have a new life now. The new has come- you are new! Quite frankly, I think that means you have a new virginity to give to your girlfriend on your wedding night. And, since you've known and remember, it can be all the more special.

Also, as long as you talk it out with your girlfriend, I think everything will be allright. If she isn't willing to accept and love you for who you are then she isn't worth it.

Bottom line: You're new, you should be loved, don't be so hard on yourself. :)

Now...May I reply from a biased point of view? :)

Your girlfriend loves you for who you are, no matter what happens. She is unlike any other girl you've ever met before, and I am willing to bet that you recognize that too. She is the marrying type, she'll love you through thick and thin, when things go wrong, when everything is fine and dandy, and she will most definitely love you regardless of your past. She will also love you because of your past. The Bible says that love covers a multitude of sins. She knows that full well. Whether it was you that sinned or someone else, if it comes to effect her, she won't worry about it! Love's got it covered! It's erased! See, either way your past has been erased. It's gone. Can I let you in on something? She doesn't worry about it. She doesn't even think about it. She knows that your past is your past and she's gonna love you no matter what. Your physical relationship with her is pure. You know why? Because you two are starting new together. This is her first real relationship as a Christian, and isn't it yours as well? So that means that both of your pasts are gone, and you two get to start new together. That wedding day and night will sure be special, won't it? Of course you should be loved. And even if you shouldn't be, you know what? She loves you anyway! That wouldn't stop her! But of course you should be loved, and you are loved deeply and purely, from her heart. Hey, you're the only one besides me who gets let into her heart, trust me, she wouldn't be disappointed in you because of your past. She celebrates the present with you, and all that is to come! You are a virgin to her. You're born again, and nothing that you say, do or think can change that. You're new.

Bottom line: You're new! You're loved!

Finally....may I reply from a completely biased point of view? ;)

I love you dearly. Nothing in this world can change that- Not anything you've done or others have done. I understand...things happen. There was nothing you could do, and there's definitely nothing you can do about it now. You're precious and pure to me, and our life together is ideal to me. Neither one of us are perfect- I have many imperfections and a past myself- but together, we have something beautiful. So you're not technically a virgin...so what? Like I said before, you are new, you are a brand new creation. You're pure, your past is gone. You're a virgin to me. Nothing like that can change my love for you, nothing can make me not love you. So to answer your question: yes. You should be loved. Not only that, but you are loved.

Bottom line: I love you.
