Be very careful and deeply analyze your decision on conversion. I was in the exact opposite situation as you, I live in a Christian home, my whole family is Christian. I deconverted because I saw the many faults that it possesses. Whatever your decision is please just think it through deeply, and talk not only to Chistians but also to Non-Christians, that is how I made my decision.

lighted path, it's me again! are you avoiding us again?! that's okay, i know this is a hard thing to be going through...

I agree, you should talk to ppl of other religions. And again, i agree with cian, Christianity possesses many faults, but if anyone can name a religion that does not, i'd like to hear it!

The fact is, God is without flaw, but because he created free will, we are flawed. No one is perfect, and i'd like to challenge cian to concider why you chose to "deconvert". Was it because it was too hard being a christian? too easy? too many persecuters? too much to think about? It's hard to thihnk about, but i know that you probably felt one of those reasons when deciding to step away from God. I have a question for you: Did you accept Christ as your personal savior?(pray the prayer)

Many Christians believe(not all, but i do) that once you have accepted Christ, he won't let you go. For example, ythe prodigal son. He left his father and went out and experienced secular life, he realized he was wrong and helpless and returned. In the meantime, the father went out every day to look for his son. When his child returned he rejoiced and was not angry. he gave the son gifts and invited him back into the family.

I believe this passage is symbolizing God's everlasting love and ownership of us. When you accept him, you give your life to him. it's his, and he's not willing to give you up because you don't like him anymore:). And when you do see your faults, he'll meet you right where you are, and he'll take you back...always.

Will, he loves you sooo much! he really wants you to love him back. His love is unconditional and everlasting. don't turn him down when he wants to lift you up. please reply, i know you're gonna read this, just answer so i know you're there.

I love you so much,
Emily:hug:

Hello all,
I am from Malaysia, born in a family embracing Taoism and partly Buddhism. Everytime I see people going to church, I feel like, some kind of a "jealous"... Christianity seems like a wonderful religion. sometimes, I have this feeling of wanting to convert, but I always changed my mind in the end. It is because of everytime I think of converting, when I looked at the statue of my beloved goddess, her serene smile, I feel myself filled with guilt. She has protected me since my younger days, in everything. She was the only one who listens to me, all my friends outside were liars, inconsiderate people... She saved me, my uncle and auntie from a horrible accident last year. By turning to Christianity, it is as if I am betraying her. I feel so bad...

Even if I convert, I feel that my parents will not be with me. I love them so very much... Day and night I have them in my mind. My grandparents, parents, relatives... I love them so so so much. What can I do? I want to be with them, for now, for always, In this life, and the life other. Please share your thought

Sometimes Christians offend each other because they create levels of importance, where Jesus wanted us all to have authority through Him, never controlling others but building each other up in our callings and giftings. In a Christian home, sometimes the parents are so afraid of criticism from their peers, that they push it too hard. The faith becomes only the religion of the parents, used as a control method rather than a help.

You could become an Atheist also.

Not only does it give you a happy feeling that only you are in control of your life, its a great way to general life.

But if religion is the thing for you then go for it.
Again, are you really interested in being god?.....seems like a lot of pressure to me.....and I wonder how happy you'd be when you die and find out your just as miniscule as everyone else......:|I bet we're confusing you....so maybe you should just listen to your heart, Will.
Love,

I'm sorry, but I have a little complaint against "trying out" Christianity. You cannot just try out Christianity. Either you come to a point and realize that you NEED Jesus to have your life, or you don't. You cannot give your life to Jesus for a little while, knowing your going to take it back if you don't like what happens when you do. If that is the case, you may not have given your life to Him in the first place.

I don't want to sound mean or whatever, I just wanted to say what I thought.

Ur totally right! In fact, i don't remember if i've already said this,
i believe, as do many others, that if u truly give ur heart to God, he doesn't let go! If u turn against him, he still counts you in on the "Children of God"list..so to speak. It's like the prodigal son, he left his father's home, and when the world came crashing down on him, his father invited him back with open arms, and the father would go out every day to wait for his son, until he did in fact return home. I believe that this is speaking of God's nonstop ownership and love for you. He waited, and he would not let go of his son...get the pic?
To will,
love emily

*cries to herself as she sees that will is gone....i will always pray for u, u r in my heart and i won't let u go without a fight...please, i really want to know where u r, and wut u have chosen......
I wrote a poem for u, and all the others here who are undecided:

Lost in confusion,
Scared and alone,
They were saved by the Crusifiction,
Yet, this is not known...

In my heart I hold you dear,
Praying you might see,
Now I am consumed by fear,
The fear that you have fleed.

Hiding in your dark spot,
Will the light of my love reach?
So many spiritual battles are faught,
So many friends to teach!

I will not give in,
This is the story of the prodigal son,
Dark and scary is the path on which we begin,
But in the end the war will be won!

I miss you will, but i'll always be here....

William -

You mentioned in your thread the statue of your beloved goddess. Let me ask you - does that statue promise eternal life in Heaven? Did that statue die on the cross for your sins? If you are a smart person, your answer to both of those questions should be "no." But guess what? Jesus DOES offer eternal life, and Jesus DID die on the cross for your sins. In the Bible, Jesus said: I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me. In other words, if you want to get to the Father (to God/Heaven), you must trust Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You must repent (turn away) from your sins and put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

You said you feel that your parents will not be with you. Well, once you become a Christian then you should talk to your parents about Christianity. You want to see your family in Heaven, don't you? The Bible is very clear in many places that if a person does not accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, that they will go to Hell rather than Heaven. Did you know that in the New Testament, Hell is mentioned MUCH more than Heaven? Why? Because God wants to warn us about the danger of Hell, and teach us how we can NOT go there.

If you want to be with your family now and FOREVER, then you all must become Christians. That is the only way. And as far as your Goddess goes - just think of the commandment: Thou shalt have no other God but me. If you worship the Goddess, then you are making a God out of the Goddess. By doing so, you are breaking one of the Lord's 10 Commandments.

I am here at any time if you have questions or want to talk. Just send me a private message.

You're quite right, and I think the_lighted_path is approaching this in a different way than most converts do.

I'd ask him to look at the origins of his own Buddhism (Smith & Novak, particularly), but I won't intervene in his search for Christianity because this is of course a Christian forum. William, I hope you find the path that guides your life. :)

How is it going with your thoughts on the subject? Your story is really interesting to me. I pray that you follow the Lords path. Because when I look back on my life without Him, I have clue how I managed to get through the days. Praying for you my friend.

We Christians would welcome you. The purpose of Christianity is to bring souls to Jesus. We believe he is the only path to salvation. Consider this. What year is it? A: 2005. 2005 from when? 2005 from the year of Christs birth. The whole world marks time from the day of his birth. Only God could have caused a carpenters son, who was tried and found guilty of sedition. And executed for jealousy. To be the one from whos birth, time itsself is marked. When Jesus returns, It will be the end of time. You are on the right track! You are being drawn to Christ. Take the step of faith. I did and I've never had such security and peace. I'm not worried about the affairs of the world. I only want to see more people find Jesus. For me it's worth whatever it costs.
