Should I ask my priest for a blessing?

So I am living on campus for the college year, and I heard that Orthodox priests do blessings when someone is starting to live somewhere else. Since I am a newbie I don't know if it is appropriate to ask him. What do you think?

One applicable blessing could be a house/dorm blessing.
