Should Christians support Jews in rebuilding of Third Temple?

Should Christians support Jewish control of Temple Mount and rebuilding of Temple?

  • Yes, I believe that every word in Ezekiel chapter 40 to 48 must be fulfilled.

  • No, doing this might speed up the time of the coming of the anti-Messiah!

  • Yes, King Cyrus was led by the God of Abraham and he supported this cause.

  • No, I believe that we should all be vegetarians and never kill animals.

  • Yes, our nation will be blessed if we bless the Jewish people.

  • No, this could lead to a war and human life is of more value than any temple!

On the other hand there is a lot of logic in this writing by a man from Uganda that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit/Ruach ha Kodesh depends on Christians coming to a new level of unity with our Jewish brethren:

Hi Contented: On the other hand I believe that we Christians have completely misunderstood the full implications of this statement by Rabbi Jesus/Yahushua:

Luk 24:25
Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken

Contented, how do you personally think that the disciples of Cephas/Peter lived and treated the Levitical laws in the year 90 C.E?

It is a historical fact that some of the pronouncements of famous Christian reformers set the stage for the holocaust of the Nazi era:

Martin Luther: The Jews and Their Lies
Martin Luther: The Jews and Their Lies (1543)

In my opinion the Orthodox and Chassidic Jewish communities are the only people on earth capable of fulfilling the inspired words of the prophet Ezekiel regarding God's plans for Jerusalem and the surrounding area.

The sad thing is that these Christians don't look at the inhabitants as much more than pawns, in my honest opinion.

Do you mean the inhabitants of Jerusalem?

That is a good point!

The Tsvi Misinai scholarhip indicates that the Palestinian people may well be to a great extent the great, great, great....grandchildren of the students of Cephas/Peter.

For many reasons the Messianic Jewish community did NOT join in the Bar Kochba Revolt and thus were NOT expelled from the land!

What do you think that Cephas/Peter might say to the Palestinian people if he was allowed to talk to all of them in dreams in the year 2012?

Would it make a differernt to the prophecy if we didn't? Is the rebuilding of the Third Temple not inevitable if God said it would happen?

Good question!

I believe the Book of Haggai is a good one to read through to get the full picture.

I believe that by our choices and actions we can cause the era of Messiah/Moshiach to be ushered in years or even decades before it would happen if we make worse choices!?

Here is a copy of the first e-mail that I received from Mr. Boruch Fishman. Many questions regarding this project are answered in this letter:

Why concern ourselves with rebuilding the temple when we have Christ, who is greater than the temple? God took the temple away for a reason.

Good questions SoldierOfTheKing!

Basically it is because I firmly believe that the prophecy given to King Cyrus has enormous implications for the setting up of the factors that lead to the full fledged era of Messiah/Moshiach and even for the Islamic Mahdi that in my opinion may fit perfectly with the comments in Isaiah chapters 45 and 46:

Isaiah 45 (Blue Letter Bible: KJV - King James Version)

......

I [am] the LORD, and [there is] none else, [there is] no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me
:....

I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.

Several major Islamic scholars have risked their lives to express support for the Jewish people and their desire to rebuild their Jerusalem Third Temple. These Islamic leaders have a much greater understanding of the message given to Isaiah than many Christian leaders seem to have!

One of the best explanation that I have ever seen for this was given to Pastor Rick Joyner in a visionary dream in 1995.

The Hordes of Hell are Marching

This visionary dream goes a long way toward explaining what happened to famous Christians reformers who began with a relatively tolerant attitude toward people with a different opinion than they had but toward the end of their careers they expressed ideas that were astonishingly harsh and not at all in line with the teachings of Rabbi Jesus/Yahushua.

It's a tough one.

Part of me feels that the Jews should have a Temple on their holiest site. After all, there existed two temples for hundreds of years that was the centre of the Jewish world. The Dome of the Rock was deliberately built on the Temple Mount, as Muslims see the site as sacred too. Yet Muslims have Mecca and Medina, which are more holy to them than Jerusalem.

Another part of me feels that the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa are both incredible beautiful works of art (although, in terms of religious architecture, nothing compares to the beauty of the 2nd Temple imo). Muslims have been praying at the site for a thousand years. Moreover, the Temple Mount was disused for hundreds of years before the Muslims built Al Aqsa on top of it. It was destroyed by the Romans; it wasn't as if the Muslims came and deliberately demolished the Temple to build their mosque.

I guess the best we can do is sharing the site, so that Jews and Muslims have equal access to the Temple Mount. Yet I know that the two sides hate each other too much to ever make that a practical solution.

I believe Christians are suppose to support everyone. So I would have to say yes.

Cats are not only awesome but one person in six who reports having a near death experience actually meets with a former pet!!!!!!!

This is especially true in the case of children who have an NDE.

I personally was greatly encouraged by the response that I received to this question when I posed it on the Christian Heritage Party of Canada discussion forum.

Most certainly not!

1. Why would we?
2. It would greatly destabilize the region
3. There are already beautiful buildings that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites on the Temple Mount: the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa. Why on earth would we destroy them?

Jesus' parting orders to His followers were to preach the gospel and make disciples. We were also commanded to love each other so unbelievers would know we belonged to Him. Whatever a Christian does publicly should promote the Gospel and Christ in some way. If this temple is going to be rebuilt and used by (unconverted) Jews to resume animal sacrifices in the belief that God will once again look with favor upon them, then the last thing a Christian should do is support its rebuilding since Christ is the Lamb.

Christians should support Jews in accepting our Lord Jesus Christ. Without Jesus Christ, the Jews will remain just as lost as their Muslim neighbours, and building temples will do nothing to save them.

It always trips me out when you go all christian out of nowhere.

I truly appreciate all your replies...you have given me a lot to think about!

Yesterday I read part of Grant R. Jeffrey's chapter on the The Ark of the Covenant and the Rebuilding of the Temple in his 1989 version of Armageddon, Appointment with Destiny!

At that time he seemed to have the impression that it was obvious that the Jewish people had to rebuild their Third Temple before certain Messianic prophecies could come to pass and the full fledged era of Messiah/Moshiach could be ushered in.

This morning I did a search for Grant Jeffrey, Jerusalem Temple and was rather disappointed to read that at this time he seems to be exceptionally worried about the coming of the anti-Messiah....which is logical of course...but it sure seems to me that his ideas back in 1989 were more in line with that of Joshua and Caleb whereas at this time he seems to be getting more in line with the attitude of fear and helplessness expressed by the ten other spies?!

I would say that Jesus is the third temple, so I can't imagine why Christians would want to fund it.

The Jewish people are definitely not asking for funding for the project from Christians but they just want some political support from the people who believe in the validity of the words of Isaiah and Ezekiel regarding what must happen in Jerusalem!

Would you prefer my posts to be incessant rants about the four horsemen, the anti-christ and not forgetting the gay mafia?

Jlujan69 puts it so much more eloquently and I share his words 100%.
