Going by most standards of Christian morality, hooking a creature through the mouth and then killing it without needing to eat it for your own pleasure would represent a form of sadism. Christians tend to be in opposition to things like sadism, so I think you'd find that most Christians would disapprove of fishing if they gave it some thought.
