This is sort of the problem. Many people - including Christians - really do see it that way, and that's the message they'll be spreading to new Christians who come here in good faith. The new greatest commandment of the WIKI Bible: if its a sin and you feel good doing it then its not really a sin and a moral judgement of another person.

That's never a mistakeRead the whole thread... can't judge a thread by just a few posts. x
Am really sorry it's upsetting you. Do you feel it reflects on you somehow? Cos it so doesn't. You aren't unwanted. Truly. You're totally welcome here. The members aren't the problem. It's Erwin's reluctance to acknowledge some of the problems, and his unwillingness to listen to the valid points people are making.Otherwise... I don't know how I'm supposed to feel about this discussion.
I'm holding out for now that this will still be a Christian place and I still do see Christ here.
I wasn't sure how I felt when it first happened because I didn't really understand it all, but I knew something was really wrong here. You all vote on whether blasphemy is ok now? I've really been out of the loop. I vote yes because the site no longer can distinguish a Christian for a non. "I think therefore I am" seems to be the ringer now. It was bad before, but Erwin has become nonsensical now.
This is definitely a mistake on a Christian forum.Never can tell. He said he would never allow non-Christian moderators and now he said he changed his mind. Who is to say never means never?
Its sad that we feel the decisions made lately are a disaster...the only thing we can do about it is either leave or make light of it. This is a sad state of CF indeed.Hey, this is a nice little FEMA trailer amid the flood of relativism that inundated the place when the levees broke on 7-7-7.
This is scary...something needs to be done before this happens. Before there was a clear emphasis on the Bible being the center. It was a site for CHRISTIANS to fellowship and for unbelievers to be evangelized. Now, it's more a place to make everyone feel lovey-dovey and comfortable so that no reprobate ever feels like he's a sinner in need of God's saving grace. In fact, they can even take over the forum now if they get enough people to vote them into modship--which can, as I saw during my time on staff, happen when a bunch of Bible-hating people come over from another site in an attempt to make a mockery of God and His Word.
Christians are not to be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. It would seem that this site has become ashamed of that Holy Word because now it is doing everything it can to help people feel comfortable in their sins.
Wiki is wicked, I don't care what anybody says, its a way of separating the body of Christ.Maybe instead of changing the name of the forum, we could go along with the wiki theme, and have a bible wiki. Once we are finished with that we could have complete agreement, and even a wiki bible full of quotes which are modern and not as strict, and more accepting of todays beliefs.
This is scary.
Unfortunately, this is true.100% yes. When a rule of the site is "if you think you are Christian just go for it and call yourself one regardless of what you believe" then you pretty much just threw Christ out the door.
I don't know about that, but it should be now. I'm voting yes based upon a lot of the things I've seen here lately, especially the new rules.where've you been Steve? The word Christian should have been removed a long time ago.
This is scary indeed.
I agree, someone should bring this to whomever can make this a sticky in every forum so EVERYONE can vote on this very important question. In addition to this thread, I think this question, and this vote/poll, should be posted throughout "C"F. Either individually, in every single forum and subforum or, at the least, in a more general place, where EVERYONE can see it and vote. I don't think it would change the outcome of the vote, since I really believe the majority of folks here at "C"F probably feel the name should be changed. But posting it elsewhere/everywhere would at least quash the enivitable cries of "Foul!" and "Bias!" that will, undoubtably follow if this is the only place/forum the question/poll/vote is posed.
Its a shame that a lot of people think this way. The sad thing is, I'm not unconvinced about this either.Hiya, Skripper.
Thing is, it wouldn't make a jot of difference. Erwin ultimately rules with an iron fist consisting of brief rejoinders, failiure to acknowledge the actual issue, then locking the thread to prevent further discussion.
It's the democratic way.

It was brought up very soon after the announcement and he didn't acknowledge it. I'd imagine all the site supportership and Unmentionable Company adverts would more than cover the cost, but it doesn't look like the New, Transparent CF includes seeing the accountsIt comes down to who has the site registered and who is footing the bills. I think it would be sad if the majority of users (not counting troll accounts to throw off polls) voted to change the site's name (which they should IMO) and Erwin refused to change it.
