well it would eb hard for Bc to be part if Alberta isn't

Nah, it'd be perfect. We'd have them surrounded on 3 sides. We could invade, deport them all to Texas (except the million Newfies - we're keeping them!) and we'd get all their oil!

Seriosly though, what's this all about? I live in Quebec, I'm not Quebecois but I recognize there is a legitimate question here as to whether Quebecois want to remain as part of Canada. What's the beef in the west?

"oh, there's more people in central Canada, so we have no political influence"

Grow up! You're the most economically vibrant part of Canada, growing by the year! In a decade or two you'll eclipse the east. You're part of the best nation on earth, and you want to give that up for what? To be an insignificant little speck of a country with finite mineral resources doomed to obscurity? You'll be begging to be let back in in 30 years when the oilfields run dry. Or sooner if the world economy finally shifts away from fossil fuels. Puhleeeeze. :sigh:

AC.....you seem to have forgotten your history!

Alberta was a have-not province up until about 1961. Ontario is the only province to have never received going back to the start of equalization in 1957.

And don't forget, water is the next big commodity....

Alberta will never seperate:)

200 odd years ago a bunch of quacks decided to split from the Commonwealth because of somethin´ called "taxation without representation". This is The West´s Declaration of Independence !!!!!

I like Canada all together

Fortunately the drive for freedom of a people is not determined by popular
taste or flavor of the month deals... it is more complex than a simple whim.

Listen sister, and listen well. The drive for freedom and independence of a people is not determined solely by "money" ( contrary to what your materialistic commie heroes might think) but rather the bonds of a comon culture, world view, and vision of a shared future. The jig is up for the East. Ottawa has never nor will it ever understand the Western Ethos.

Not only would I be for it, I'd run for a political party to represent it. I am so sick of the east. I'm tired of the tax, I'm tired of the bought votes, I'm tired of the Liberal government...

Between BC, Alberta and Sask, we'd be pretty self-reliant.
