  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

:D

I think we had more fun than we planned going baby shopping yesterday. We had some gift cards and we had to spend them within 60days so out we went. I got some really cute outfits for next spring/summer on clearence, like this shirt with really cute turtles and frogs on it with matching shorts. I got 5 outfits and not one of them's blue.

DH found a car, that talks. It says ouch if you drop it...hehe, hopefully it'll still talk once the baby will be old enough to enjoy it.

The only disappointing thing is there is about four times the selection for girls. I mean even things that could go either way like ducks, had frilly sleeves so it was for a girl.

I got lots of blue for the baby shower and it's all sky or baby blue, I wanted something different. One outfit has a lot of orange in it...basically I don't want to be stuck in the blue for boys and pink for girls, that's all.

 I did sage and yellow and creme for my little guys. And yes - there's more clothing for girls than boys...very true!

What's wrong with blue? Even wearing blue people would call David a girl.... because of his big round eyes... I couldn't figure that out, he'd have on ALL blue items and they'd still do it.

Lol, my girlfriend always dresses her daughter in pink and people always say "what a cute little boy." :)

Sounds like you had fun, Linnis!
Yay shopping! :)

:) Glad to hear you had fun!

So far all we've bought during the pregnancy is a soft caterpillar toy that plays classical music... so cute!

Otherwise we have a few bits of clothing in bright colours (I'm not a big fan of pastels, let alone boy=blue, girl=pink), that I picked up here and there on sale. And a bag of white patterned clothes that MIL went out and bought as soon as she heard :D

My family has a history of going into labor 5-6 weeks early, all the women big or small. I'm 7 months 1 week pregnant so I figure we'll have to get the stuff sooner rather than later.

When DH gets paid this week, I'm picking up the crib mattress and the plastic containers for storage under the crib for blankets etc. I want to begin washing and putting away some stuff to get it out of my living room.
