Cowell's contract is up next year and he's negotiating his current $36 million annual pay to up over $100 million. That's a lotta money for one year. But he knows that AI just wouldn't be him without it.

I found it hard to believe that Ryan made $5 million per season and is going to be getting a significant raise after his new contract is signed. I'm not sure the issue is that the show can afford it, more along the lines of how out of whack economics are when people who give their opinion on ultimately unimportant things make so much more money (10 to 100x more) than people providing life saving and life improving services.

Yes, Kara and Paula are coming back. They are also currently in negotiations for their contracts. Methinks the more about money this show becomes, the less interesting it'll be.

Actually, it is looking like Paula may not be coming back, at least per her manager. Apparently AI has not yet started negotiating with Paula, nor have the sent her a proposal for a new contract. I'm not sure how much of his comments is designed to have people put pressure on AI to get them to start negotiating with Paula but have to admit that they haven't even sent a proposal, after they have already resigned Ryan at $15 million/year doesn't look good. Seems like they are no more than a couple of months from when the judges start the new season.
