Psalm 51:11-13
11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. 13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you. -- NIV


David's Psalm is a desire which I feel every Christian has. Whilst we all sin, we love God so much that we yearn to repent and be cleansed! We all should have compassion for the unsaved and a zeal to see them turn to Christ.

Remember: David was a murderer and an adulterer, but he was still described as "a man after God's own heart." Jesus will never turn from us as long as we repent.

Here the Psalmist uses the image of sheep to refer to those who belong to God. Jesus also uses this image when he says, "I am the good shepherd."
