~ Psalm 65:1-8 ~
Praise awaits you, O God, in Zion; to you our vows will be fulfilled.
O you who hear prayer, to you all men will come.
When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions.
Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts!
We are filled with the good things of your house, of your holy temple.
You answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness,
O God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas,
who formed the mountains by your power, having armed yourself with strength,
who stilled the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations.
Those living far away fear your wonders;
where morning dawns and evening fades you call forth songs of joy.

With such a feeling of freshness and newness with each Spring day, I find it creates more willingness to hope and trust in the love and blessings of the Lord.

O, send out Your light and Your truth!

Let them lead me
Let them bring me to Your holy hill
and
To Your Tabernacle.

The I will go to the altar of God,
To God my exceeding joy;

and on the harp I will praise You,

O God, my God.

Psalm 139:1-18,

OMNISCIENCE

'O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord. You hem me in -- behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.'

OMNIPRESENCE

'Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me," even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.'

OMNIPOTENCE

'For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of the came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.'

The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD is on his heavenly throne.
He observes the sons of men; his eyes examine them.

The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence his soul hates.

On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot.

For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
And to sing praises to Thy name,
O Most High;

To declare Thy lovingkindness in the morning,
And Thy faithfulness by night,
With ten-stringed lute,
And with the harp;
With resounding music upon the lyre.

For Thou, O Lord,
hast made me glad by what Thou hast done,
I will sing for joy at the work of Thy hands.

~ Psalm 66:1-9 ~

Shout with joy to God, all the earth!
Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious!
Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you.
All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you,
they sing praise to your name."

Selah

Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man's behalf!
He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot - come, let us rejoice in him.
He rules forever by his power, his eyes watch the nations-
let not the rebellious rise up against him.

Selah

Praise our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard;
he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.

~ Psalm 68:32-35 ~

Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth,
sing praise to the Lord,
Selah
to him who rides the ancient skies above,
who thunders with mighty voice.
Proclaim the power of God, whose majesty is over Israel,
whose power is in the skies.
You are awesome, O God, in your sanctuary;
the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.
Praise be to God!

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ - the all powerful One, the Holy One, our ever present help in times of trouble!

Psalm 108:1-5,

'My heart is steadfast, O God;
I will sing and make music with all my soul.
Awake, harp and lyre!
I will awaken the dawn.
I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.
For great is your love, higher than the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and let your glory be over all the earth.

Psalm 51

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against you, you alone, have I sinned, and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are justified in your sentence and blameless when you pass judgment. Indeed, I was born guilty, a sinner when my mother conceived me. You desire truth in the inward being; therefore teach me wisdom in my secret heart. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your holy spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and sustain in me a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your deliverance. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. For you have no delight in sacrifice; if I were to give a burnt offering, you would not be pleased. The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. Do good to Zion in your good pleasure; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, then you will delight in right sacrifices, in burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings; then bulls will be offered on your altar.

:preach:

Psalm 51 is packed with much food for meditation. Mainly it has to do with understanding what God does when we sincerely repent of our sins. After our iniquities are blotted out by the Lord; after our heart is made clean and a right spirt is within us...we will be restored to the joy of our salvation. Our joy had been lost through sinning. Sinning does that...it kills or removes our joy temporarily until we repent and return to the Lord with cleansed hearts.

What then is next? The psalmist tells us in this prayer that after we repent and our joy is restored we will teach transgressors God's ways and sinners will return to him. (Hmmmmm - God can use even our mistakes, our missing of the mark, to bring good to others. That is why it is good to share of God's mercy with others. (Our testimonies may help other sinners turn from the wrong way) :)

The psalmist describes our true sacrifice (worship) to be found in praising God. :prayer: And the sacrifice God wants is not a burnt offering (which amounts to nothing) but our contrite hearts.

And the walls of Jerusalem will be built....:amen:

PSALMS 10
1 Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?
2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.
4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God : God is not in all his thoughts.
5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.
8 He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.
9 He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.
10 He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.
11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it .
12 Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.
13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it .
14 Thou hast seen it ; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man : seek out his wickedness till thou find none.
16 The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.
17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

Amen and amen.:amen:
