PSALM 96


Sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
he is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are idols.
but the Lord made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and glory are in his sanctuary.

Ascribe to the Lord, O families of nations,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
bring an offering and come into his courts.
Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness
tremble before him, all the earth.

Say among the nations, "The Lord reigns."
The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
He will judge the peoples with equity.
Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad.
let the sea resound, and all that is in it:
let the fields be jubilant, and
everything in them.
Then all the trees of the forest will sing
for joy;
they will sing before the Lord, for he comes,
he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples in his truth.​

As I reread through this I am overcome by an awe of God's majesty and His holiness. He ultimately deserves all our praise; only He is worthy. And yet because of His infinite wisdom and love, He has provided a way, through His Son Jesus Christ for us to come to Him.

~ Psalm 28:6-7 ~​

Praise be to the LORD, for he has heard my cry for mercy. ​

The LORD is my strength and my shield; ​

my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. ​

My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.​

In the dreariness of a dark valley, I call to the God of my salvation, "Do not forsake me, O Lord. Lift up my head that I may gaze upon your glory. Save me from this wretchedness, this wicked world, and help me to do your will."

And He hears me ... and He answers.

Psalms 119
MEM

97 O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.
98 Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.
99 I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.
100 I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.
101 I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.
102 I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me.
103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.​

Try to imagine what it will be like when we finally stand before the High King of Heaven, and gaze upon His beauty. ​

I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

Otherwise they will not come near you.

This is so reassuring to me...to read that God will keep a close eye upon me. He will take care of me and He will see "all" that needs to be done for and in my life. I don't have to look around for some one else to get me thru life...He will take the job on my behalf.

It is my part not to be stubborn or insist on what "I" see as my freedom...He is my freedom.

I also see from this last verse...that the more I let my heart trust Him...the more I will know His love, something I desperately long to live and walk in...in a more understanding way. His lovingkindness will surround me as I trust Him. ​

~ Psalm 30:5 ~ ​

... weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.​

This verse sure brings back memories. From it, I wrote a song called 'Joy Comes in the Morning', and took it to my first songwriter's meeting at church. I was scared and didn't know what to expect, but I had finally stopped fighting God and took a step toward doing His will... You see, I don't read music, but I write. I don't play an instument, but all the words come with tunes. I love singing but have no training or experience ... choir, yeah, but that's all by ear.

God said, "My grace is sufficient for you." When I sang at the meeting, my worship leader asked me if I'd do it at church. He put music to it, produced music sheets for the band, and had me singing at all 4 services about a month later. From there, God help build my belief and is still at work.

109 My soul is continually in my hand: yet do I not forget thy law.
110 The wicked have laid a snare for me: yet I erred not from thy precepts.
111 Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

Psalm 31:19 & 23-24

How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you,
which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you.

Love the LORD, all his saints! The LORD preserves the faithful, but the proud he pays back in full. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.

May the Lord give strength to His people!

Psalm 29:10-11



What a blessing to be one of the Lord's people...He is not moved or overwhelmed by any kind of flood or adversity life brings me.
He is sovereign over everything and never caught by surprise.

And He is generous...willing and able to strengthen me and give me His peace as well.

God will not let us alone, praise His name! His Holy Spirit works in us, teaching us all things, convicting us of all sin, and calling us to repentance. Sin weights us down; only in forgiveness is the burden lifted, and the blessing of His peace restored to us.​

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him and I am helped;

​

One thing I see here---when I let my heart trust in Him I am helped; it so happened at midnight for me just last night.

My soul...my mind and emotions were able to just rest and wait "again".

My heart is strengthened today and I can just praise and thank Him...in the now!​

Psalm 143:8-10, 'Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.
