~ Psalm 4:2 ~ ​

How long, O men, will you turn my glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods?

There are many who come in the name of Jesus, but He does not know them. Their ways are deceptive and they bring dishonor to God by using Him for their own selfish motives. They twist His word and make themselves gods in their own eyes.

God is our refuge and our strength,
an ever present help in trouble.
Therfore we will not fear, though
the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the
heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with
their surging.

There is a river whose streams
make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most
High dwells.
God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
Nations are in uproar, kingdoms
fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

The Lord also will be a refuge for the opressed,

~ Psalm 5:4-8 ~​

You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with you the wicked cannot dwell. The arrogant cannot stand in your presence; you hate all who do wrong. You destroy those who tell lies; bloodthirsty and deceitful men the LORD abhors.

But I, by your great mercy, will come into your house; in reverence will I bow down toward your holy temple. Lead me, O LORD , in your righteousness because of my enemies - make straight your way before me.

How faithful and holy is our God. He cannot look upon evil, and he brings those who practice it to nothing. But, because of His gracious mercy and love He draws his children near to him, and teaches them in His ways. ​

These express my hearts desire. I long for the passion for God's word this psalmist had.

Psalms 19:7-11

7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Psalm is one of my favorite books in the Bible. Reading Psalms brings me to a place of knowing God in a deeper way. There I'm able to express my feelings to God everytime I would run out of words. In Psalms, I'm finding that God is not only my God but also my friend that sticks closer than a brother, a comfort in times of heartaches, and my strong warrior over my enemies that overwhelms me. Thank you Lord for Psalms.

I love you, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.
He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
and I am saved from my enemies.

~ Psalm 8 ~​

LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have set your glory above the heavens. From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.

You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet: all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.

O LORD , our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

I am in awe of you, Lord God. My soul bows before you in reverance. I can barely understand the blessing you have bestowed upon mankind. This so seems like me today. I actually had a vision recently of seeing a child or youth being hepled "up" onto a Rock...higher than the child could climb.

I have shared that before here.

But, I saw myself face down in the mud a few years ago...and I remember seeing a mirey, sticky ball or mass of knots that seemed to be my emotional state at that time. He has brought me to a much better place, wouldn't you say? I do believe He is now opening my ear as well.

I must say THANK YOU LORD!!!

How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever?

On this battlefield, I am wounded and sinking fast under the pressure. Uphold me, Father, by your righteous right hand. Strengthen me against the wiles and schemes of the enemy. Hear my cry, and restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Well my favorite Psalm is also my favorite verse. Growing up is hard and scary! While finding my way in life I had a poster on my wall in college it was a forest scene with Psalm 27 v 1. It has always stayed with me, and to this day, when I find my self scared to do something, even something I know is right, I think of this verse and goforth and do it. While this chapter is somewhat strong, I find it calming.
I am now a Corporate Pilot, (XNavy pilot) but on 9-11 I had just returned from a trip for a cargo company, had returned from Brazil and was in a hotel in Memphis. My wife called to ask if I had been watching the news. Of course I had gotten to the hotel at 1am, but anyway after the events of the morning, I pulled out the bible and started with my favorite verse then the entire chapter. It was amazing how this chapter was PERFECT for the events of the morning.
Anyway here is the first verse, you are all aware of it I'm positive but here it is anyway. Please read Chapter 27 and imagine it is the morning of 9-11!
