2 Thessalonians 1:3-4. We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing. Therefore, among God's churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.

We could personalize this thanksgiving this week particularly by giving thanks for our Christian friends and fellowship in the Lord. And ask God to increase our love for one another in the churches and here on our forum. Let us boast about the faith of those who are undergoing trials and be edifyied by their perseverance. ~ Isaiah 55:10-11 ~ As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

What encouragement I find in this Scripture. God's assures me that when I speak His Word into the lives of others, it will never be in vain.

2 Corinthians 12:9

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

"So they (the shepherds) hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them." [Luke 2:16-18]


Shepherds of the flocks still spread the word and people are still amazed.

If I had cherished sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened;
but God has surely listened
and heard my voice in prayer.(Psalm 66:18-19)

These verses makes me think of "Cleanse my heart, O Lord." and so it is that we need to ask the Lord to cleanse our hearts as we begin to pray...that our hearts will be right and not harbor unrepented sin. It is the prayer of one with a pure heart which draws the ear of the Lord.

The Lord God says

"...those who hope in me will not be disappointed." Is 49:23

"Do I lack the strength to rescue you?
By a mere rebuke I dry up the sea..." Is 50:2

"Because the Sovereign Lod helps me, I will not be disgraced." Is 50:7

"It is the Sovereign Lord who helps me." Is 50:9

God is so great! i love who He is, that He is so strong!
