And the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea; and when they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews.

Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily, to see whether things were so.

Many of them therefore believed, along with a number of prominent Greek women and men.

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.” (Luke 6:35-36 – )

This is special to me given the earthquakes we had here in Trinidad last Friday. A 6.0 and a 5.5 within hours of each other. I expected my grandmother's 30 yr old home to collapse. It didn't...it didn't even crack. We have structural damage to the building at work...but my grandmother's home is solid. She and her care taker prayed through the earthquake and I believe that God's hand protected and kept them.

Later that night a song kept coming to mind and it brought me so much peace and joy. God placed a song in my heart to remind me that it'll be alright. He's always there.

I go to the Rock of my Salvation
I go to the Stone that the builders rejected
I run to the mountain and the mountain stands by me
When the earth all around me is sinking sand
On Christ, the solid rock I stand
When I need a shelter, When I need a friend,
I go to the Rock

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins:
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,(by grace ye are saved);
And raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus;
That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:1-7

So glad to read this today...waht a witness to our god...:clap:

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn,

to console those who mourn in Zion,
to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning,

the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord,

that He may be glorified."

Isaiah 61:1-3

We used to sing these verses...think I will again.

God Bless you both for your encouragement! I appreciate that pic Kim! :hug: Thank you! And Angelwind...keep singing those verses:thumbsup: because I realise that God's Word really does speak to us deep inside and at moments where we're convinced we'll fall apart or be overtaken by fear...those seeds of peace and comfort that were sown through hearing and reading and singing the Word take root and anchor us with faith.

What a testimony of God's mercy and greatness and above all His faithfulness to those who trust in Him!
Great is our God and greatly to be praised!

I remember singing them too...and will again. Thanks. :) Those verses reminded me of these.

Ps.133:1-2

Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity!

It is like the precious oil upon the head,
running down upon the beard,
upon the beard of Aaron,
running down on the collar of his robes!
