The price a person will pay for being a 'hard word' prophet is this..
You will never be 'liked' as a person.
Your word's will be unpopular and even despised.. by those whom the word is for, and who's conscience is spoken to by it.
You won't garner 'like's' or positive responses like other folks who prophesy encouragement only.
The truth is, the times we live in are very hard and many people are in pain.
They don't want to hear a 'hard word'.. so they will incline their ear to only encouraging words and things that bring hope and comfort.
But that does not discredit the call or ministry of a 'hard word' prophet.
The fact is, you will be incredibly anointed and yet face undue rejection, dishonor, and skepticism because this is guaranteed within the 'job description'.
Notice how many prophet's and prophetesses we have now who've built their ministry entirely upon encouragement.
It's very easy, and also very lucrative.
I don't mean to cast too much shade.. because we need prophetic encouragement.
But there is an account in the Old testament where the priest's loved when the people sinned because they got rich off of it.
'6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
7 As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.
8 They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.
9 And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.
10 For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD.
11 Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.
12 My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.'
(Hosea 4:6-12)
Yeah, this is where we get the term 'prophetic word junkies'.. where people lust and chase after any prophetic word that sounds good to their ear.
But woe to you when all men shall speak well of you.
'Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.'
(Luke 6:26)
A real Prophet is not meant to be popular or invited.. and they can't be bought out or bribed to change the message.
In 1 Kings 22..
Micaiah prophesied against King Ahab who was himself surrounded by hundreds of lying prophet's who only told the king what he wanted to hear.
So Ahab hated Micaiah because Micaiah had a real word from the Lord and Ahab wouldn't hear it because it brought him no solace or comfort.
'7 But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there no longer a prophet of the Lord here whom we can inquire of?”
8 The king of Israel answered Jehoshaphat, “There is still one prophet through whom we can inquire of the Lord, but I hate him because he never prophesies anything good about me, but always bad. He is Micaiah son of Imlah.”
“The king should not say such a thing,” Jehoshaphat replied.'
(1 Kings 22:7-8)
Well, Micaiah told Ahab that He would die in the upcoming battle.
Ahab did indeed die and the dogs licked up his blood from the very chariot he had rode on.. as the Word of the Lord had declared.
'34 But someone drew his bow at random and hit the king of Israel between the sections of his armor. The king told his chariot driver, “Wheel around and get me out of the fighting. I’ve been wounded.”
35 All day long the battle raged, and the king was propped up in his chariot facing the Arameans. The blood from his wound ran onto the floor of the chariot, and that evening he died.
36 As the sun was setting, a cry spread through the army: “Every man to his town. Every man to his land!”
37 So the king died and was brought to Samaria, and they buried him there.
38 They washed the chariot at a pool in Samaria (where the prostitutes bathed), and the dogs licked up his blood, as the word of the Lord had declared.'
(1 Kings 22:34-38)
Yes, while the fate of the 'hard word' prophet is to be imprisoned, rejected, and isolated just as Micaiah was never freed from being imprisoned..
Those for whom the Prophet's word is for.. they will lose the battle in the end.
The amount of people who will accept your word as a 'hard word' prophet doesn't matter.
All that matters is that you delivered it.. so their blood will not be on your hands.
'But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.'
(Ezekiel 33:6)
Again, don't be so hasty to try and garner favor with people or impress them.
That's not included in the role of a 'hard word' prophet.
This part in the body is without honor because it has no need of a special covering of honor.
It receives its own honor from God.
'And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.'
(1 Corinthians 12:23)
