  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

While we don't usually share, I don't mind doing so.
Occasionally, when one of us is sick or vulnerable to getting sick or really need to not get sick, we make sure we don't share toothbrush, cups, etc. and don’t kiss on the lips at those times either.

I don't mind it, but my husband HATES it. He's completely grossed out by the thought of sharing a toothbrush, a drink, sometimes even kissing. And no, lol, it's not just me...he's always been that way. He's that way with our kids, too...he can't stand the thought of drinking after them unless the circumstances are dire, lol.

Considering that toothbrushes can be bought for $0.99, I just don't see the necessity in sharing. I've never done it and I'd really really avoid it if possible.

And while the initial reaction of many would be to say, "Ew, gross"... I can't help but wonder if the idea is any more gross than performing oral pleasures on your beloved.

Now, if your a spouse who doesn't engage in oral pleasures and also finds the sharing of toothbrushes to be unsavoury, then I guess you're in the clear.

I don't mind. We share ours all the time. In fact, I don't even know what "my" toothbrush is and what's "his". I guess if one of us had an illness then I might not share for a while (depending on the illness - we always catch each others colds anyway), but for the rest, we do. We kiss a LOT too (and do other things), so we might as well share toothbrushes.

If I caught my husband using my toothbrush I would throw it away. I always buy the most expensive toothbrush and theres no way I would allow him to use it.
My daughter actually used it the other day but I didn't mind. My husband has been known to take the chewing gum from my mouth but I would never take it from his.

Its ok from your own blood I guess, ie son or daughter but not from someone who isn't.

I don't mind sharing drinks, either. My husband and I are so inseparable that we don't even think of ourselves as two separate people, we're one being. This leads to ridiculous comments like "Would you like to come to our birthday?" :D (We have separate birthdays.)

We don't have kids but I wouldn't mind sharing glasses with them, either.

Gross.
We don't share our toothbrush. If we go on vacation and one of us forgets a toothbrush, the Front Desk usually has them for FREE OR we'll buy one. I have extra on hand at home should something happen to ours and I change them frequently.
We also don't share drinks, straws etc.

So, this is all based on that Seinfeld episode, right?
LOL, no. My husband has always had a MAJOR aversion to using my toothbrush, or me using his. And the bathroom thread made me think...

I was just curious. :)
