One of those unusual moments today, I was stuck in traffic, which I dislike, and the radio started playing "SPirits in the Material World" by the Police.
As I am listening, I have one of those moments as I am sitting at a light, thinking of how deep and true this song is, and how it could be one of those songs that leads to hours of deeper mediation and ponderance, although it is often passed over as not even one of the bands greatest hits.
Where does the answer lie?
Living from day to day
If it's something we can't buy
There must be another way
We are spirits in the material world
(Are spirits in the material world)
Ties into some of what I recently spoke about regarding the material vs the Spiritual, how we can have anything and everything materially, but unless we achieve spiritual enlightenment, we really are not complete. Which is why Jesus told a rich man to sell all of his possessions, give the money to the poor, and come, travel with Him, living the true spiritual life unencumbered by material limits. Jesus Knew this, but the rich man did not. Jesus being The Light, endeavored to show someone by example, by taking him into His realm, how truly satisfying life can be, when we place our Christ centered life in and above all.
