  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Wow! Cool. Hereby joining the never-been to-the-Globe-but -would -love-to group. I've heard it only costs a fiver if you stand up as well, or a tenner if you go in the reeeally cheap seats :)
I have however been to see the RSC at the RSC theatre in stratford upon avon. Anyone else done that?
I went to see the Taming of the Shrew and it was really good. The setting of the stage was awesome, they had doors all overs, some were even suspended in the air. Sounds wiers I know but it looked pretty impressive.

I recommend the Globe to anyone...did you know the whole theatre part of it is held together by wooden pegs?...12,000 of them. There is not a single nail in the whole structure!

The accoustics in that place are amazing!

I saw Ina Maclellen in Richard the third...it was the same play but the costumes were all set in the 1930s he did a film of it too. The stage had minimal set they just moved stuff like tables and things on and off a black stage it was amazing!

The only things modern in the theatre are the elaborate sprinkler system on the that roof ...in case it does catch fire and the electric lights but as far as I know everything else is done in the original way. Its not quite oin the original site but close to it.
