Sewing with Fleece= HELP

Ok, so I would consider myself an intermediate and a half sewer (ie: Intermediate to advanced but only beginning-advanced if that makes sense). Today I attempted to make a baby wrap blanket made with fleece and cotton fabric. It turned out ok...This was my first time sewing with fleece. I usually just sew regular cotton fabrics. So anyways. The thing was all out of sorts and stretching all over the place and I was trying to be extra careful not to pull on it too much or anything and it was still weird. Does anyone have any tips on sewing fleece. Id like to make another wrap blanket but I dont want this to happen everytime. Thanks in advance.

When sewing with stretchy fabric, pin extra well with the pins sticking out sideways, so that you can sew over them, with out having to remove them while sewing. Also try and sew with the stretchy side down on the dogs of the machine as they will feed the fabric through more evenly without extra stretching. Either that or use a walking foot.
Hope it turned out well, and best of luck next time.
Just my thoughts.
