Right, because there are all kind of transitional fossils out there for us to see. I mean, where are all the half giraffe half something else type bones. If Evolution was true, then there should be a ton of transitional fossils everywhere. The lack of transitional fossils is one of the many problems with Evolution. It is a fantasy. Also, how does life form out of non-life? Can a rock ever give birth to a fungus or microscopic life? Where does this complex code of life that has evolved truly come from? Do you ever wonder about the perfect life conditions of the Earth? The chances of such a thing happening are pretty astronomical. Just like Evolution. Also, if you just came from the slime, then that means there is no such thing as morality. Murder would not exist in your world view because it would just be one singled cell organism eliminating another single celled organism by the process of natural selection. But you have certain of God's laws written upon your heart telling you that certain things are wrong. If Evolution was true, you would have no conviction of any kind of sin or wrong doing in your life. Sin or wrong doing suggests that we sinned against a Creator God as the Bible suggests. So I would invite you to read your Bible and to seek out Jesus as your Savior.

I understand what you mean, and that's what astronomers mean, but I disagree with such broad conditions being termed "earthlike."

Using what sounds like a "commonsense" term for something that is actually quite distinct from common sense is bad taxonomy.

Scientists ought really to be more closely specific in their terms than that. The commonsense understanding of "Earthlike" would be a condition naturally hospitable to nearly any temperate-zone earth creature.

Mars, for instance, should not be considered "earthlike." They'd be better off creating a scaling system as they do for stars to describe for themselves where such planets would fall on the scale. So call a planet that would be naturally hospitable to nearly any temperate-zone earth creature something like "Class M." Then they could say that "hard surfaced (rocky) planet not a gas giant. It must be large enough to hold an atmosphere but not so large as to have a crushing gravity. It must orbit in the 'goldilocks zone' --- warm enough for liquid water but not so hot as to boil it away" is a planet between classes, say, H to Q.

But using a "commonsense" term for something that actually requires a special understanding of the definition is bad taxonomy.
NASA's press release doesn't say "earthlike", it says "earth-sized".

Three, alien encounters (Which is one of the reasons why people are seeking out other habital planets) are demonic deceptions. For the smell of brimstone has been reported in both alien and ghost encounters. The word "owls" sometimes refers to demons in the Bible. Certain owls have almond black shaped eyes like the grey aliens depicted by those who said they encountered aliens.

Wow. Some people will believe anything. I just did a Google search for the owl/aliens thing and got this result.
Why Owls Are The Perfect Surveillance Drones for an E.T. Abduction

The language of the KJV was specifically chosen to make it sound formal for public reading. However, English was not a language during Jesus' time on Earth, so while it may sound like a Shakespearean play, that is not how Hebrew and Koine Greek sound.

Or Aramaic or Latin, though none of the autographs were written in those languages.

Are you familiar with the anecdote about Ma Ferguson and the school children of Texas. ;)

Then there is Mt. Sinai which is Mount Jabal Al Lawz in Saudi Arabria. The top of the mountain is burned just as the Bible says.
-----
As for the other video called Mountain of Fire, Ron is in no way affiliated with that video.

Ooops.
Jabal al-Lawz - Wikipedia
>>
In discussions about the location of biblical Mount Sinai, Jabal Maqlā ('Burnt Mountain') is often confused with and misidentified as Jabal al-Lawz by various authors such as Bob Cornuke, Ron Wyatt, and Lennart Moller as shown by local and regional maps[3] and noted by other investigators.[4] In contrast to the real Jabal al-Lawz, the summit of Jabal Maqlā consists mainly of dark-colored hornfels derived from metamorphosed volcanic rocks that originally were silicic and mafic lava flows, tuff breccias, and fragmental greenstones. The middle and lower slopes of Jabal Maqlā consist of light-colored granite, which has intruded into the overlying hornfels. This is the same granite that comprises Jabal al-Lawz.[3] Jabal Maqla is about 7 kilometers to the south, and a few hundred meters lower.

Claims made by some writers, including Bob Cornuke, Ron Wyatt, and Lennart Moller, that Jabal Maqlā, misidentified as Jabal al-Lawz, is the real biblical Mount Sinai have been rejected by such scholars as James Karl Hoffmeier (Professor of Old Testament and Ancient Near Eastern History and Archaeology), who details what he calls Cornuke's "monumental blunders".[2][5] Creationist Gordon Franz has also argued against this identification.[6][7] <<

NASA's press release doesn't say "earthlike", it says "earth-sized".

There have been numerous references over the years to "earthlike" planets being found, but I grant they may not have been professional references.

The article linked to in the OP is a Popular Mechanics article written for laymen. If you read NASA's article (which I meant to link to in my previous response to you. Sorry about that) you can see that they very clearly refer to "earth-sized" planets.

Also googling about the story seems to show that some popular websites get it right and some don't.

Earth-sized:
NY Times
The Guardian
CNN

Earthlike:
Fox News
Popular Mechanics
Time

I've been following this type of debate for so long that I almost never believe what the popular press says about anything. Too much sloppy journalism. I look for the source documents.

This always happens when I post in atheist free thread. 30 some odd replies to one guy in a matter of a few hours. Really? I am just one person people.

Also, I see both atheists and Christians making statements (towards me) that they are in doubt of God's Word that is preserved for our world language today. In this case, there is nothing left to discuss. If you don't believe God's Word or you don't believe the Scriptures on some level (in favor of what other men teach) then let's be honest enough with ourselves to admit that we are not going to change and let's all please move on. For it sounds like no amount of evidence is going to convince anyone here (despite their claim that they desire evidence so as to see). I provide evidence and I just get mocked. Why would I give more? Do I want to be mocked even more? Surely not.

Hence, why I am moving on. Anyways, I will be praying for you all. May God's love shine upon you and please be well.

It's also because what you say is accusative. Many other Christians post on here and don't receive the same quantity of replies as you do.

You tried to preach in this thread. Did you actually expect people here to just go "Ok, fine, we accept what you say without question."

No, you provide what you think is evidence.

We don't believe it, because your authority is some nutty cluster giving his own interpretation of Revelation.

Sorry. I am not into sugar coating the truth to make people feel better about themselves. I am merely telling it like it is. If telling truth puts me in front of a firing squad than glory be to God for that.

What you think is the truth.

And yes, play a smaller violin, this is a message board. You're not evangelising in North Korea.

I know I played role playing games when I was younger and the danger in them is getting mixed up in the occult or in seeking out the realm of the dead (ghosts). I remember seeing Dark Dungeons tract before I accepted Christ. I read it and thought nothing of it. Then many years later I played a role playing game that led me to want to dabble in casting my own spells for real. I also desired to seek out ghosts and or haunted places with the help of my friends, etc. Ghosts are demons. So playing role games may not be a direct cause for suicide, but they can lead a person into the occult (Which then leads to one's destruction). In other words, when you play with fire, you are going to get burned. That is why I think suicide is possible for those who play role playing games and then dabble in the occult (which is opening yourself up to the demonic world). For demons want you to get depressed about your life to a point of taking your life. So Jack Chick is not far off.

I don't believe you.

I don't believe you played RPGs when you were younger.
I don't believe you wanted to "dabble in casting my own spells for real".
I don't believe you "desired to seek out ghosts and or haunted places with the help of my friends".

I think your actual involvement with pen and paper RPGs is limited to reading Chick tracts and other conservative Christian moral panic articles, and letting them lead you around by the nose.

If you think that RPGs lead people to the occult, you're clearly misinformed about the following:
RPGs
The 'occult'
People
