Setting a quitting date-Please pray for me

I need the money that I am spending on smoking. I feel I'll save 150.00 a month when I quit. I just bought pet insurance so I need to really have that money. I am also getting bronchitis again. Please say a prayer that I will and can quit. Thank you in advance. I'm setting the date for Dec. 1 and have nicotine lozenges to get over the beginning hurdle. They have worked for me before so they should work again. God bless you all.

Lord,
I pray that you be with RuthD as she goes thru this trying time of quit smoking. I know that you will be with her everytime she has a craving you will provide her strength. I know when she is down and suffering from the withdrawls you will lift her up and be with her Lord. Grand her patients as hers will be tested with the withdrawls of the nicotine. Also Lord I thank that Ruth has decided to take this step towards a healtheir lifestyle and spending more time with her family and friends. Be with her lord. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen

It is December 1 and I have not smoked since I got up this morning. I have felt like buying cigarettes but I can't afford them and I am also coughing bad.

Dear Lord,
Please do not allow me to by cigarettes and cleanse my body of this poisoning that I have done to myself. Please take my cough away and help me to overcome this awful addiction. Thank you dear Jesus.

Dec 2. Did not buy cigarettes. I'm thinking of what a waste of time smoking is and how compulsive about it I was. I used to continually think of smoking after doing anything and before doing anything. Now I have more freed up time to do the things that need doing around here. Thank you for these 2 days dear Jesus.

Made it through Dec. 3 but it was so hard. Just used a few nicotine lozenges and they almost made me sick so I spit them out. On to day 4. Wish I had some support going here, this is not easy.

Jesus is my one and only support. Thank you Jesus for not allowing me to get cigarettes by any means. Please help me rid myself of this cough and please motivate me to do things because I feel down. I am sleeping a lot but also taking Suzy for walks. She is my best friend. I do have love and support, thank you dear Jesus!

Hi Ruth. I have to think about quitting cigarettes too. I live on the top floor of a house and people who are sensitive to smoking are moving in below me soon. Plus it is expensive and not healthy. I quit drinking four weeks ago and I think this will be harder because I am around it everyday at work. I can relate to what you are going through. May God gives us both the strength to endure the cravings well we get this out of our system.

Forge we can support one another on this. With Jesus all is possible. My cravings are not as bad on this 4th day but I still want to get them. I ask Jesus to not allow me to get any cigarettes by any means. Cigarettes were not good to me. I am finding out more and more what it took away from me. You have an unfortunate situation with your co workers smoking.It is very important to me to stay away from a smoking environment. If there is any way you could do that it would help you very much. Jesus please help Forge to not have to smoke and to not have to be around smoke. Thank you.

I have to keep thinking of my original reason for not smoking, saving 150.00 a month which I need to care for my new dog and to pay a new charge account and etc. I am also adding more reasons to stay quit as I go. My cough is improving. I was wheezing all the time before but with the help of some DM that has lessened. The nicotine lozenges just make me nervous now so I cannot tolerate them. The nicotine has probably left my system mostly. It made me compulsive and nervous. Thank you Jesus for my health coming back and being able to buy my dog some things yesterday with the money I saved so far ($20.)

That is very good news Ruth. I had a dream about quitting smoking and after I quit in the dream good things came to me. I might consider doing the patch for awhile and see how I get along with that. I may be able to get it under my health plan. Yes praise the Lord. I will also have to lean on him when I stop. My family would be very supportive especially my mother but I will need some grace to win the race . And who knows maybe quitting that and ceasing spending in other areas I may be able to afford a pet as well. I have never owned one so will have to think about it. If I do it will be from an animal shelter.

I know it is tough Ruth. I stopped for a whole week. But I got back into it when I had some drinks. They go together for me almost as much as my morning coffee. Just have to try again.

Have you tried the patch? I don't know if it would work with you because of your sensitivity to direct nicotine. But you can regulate the dosage as far as I understand. It worked for my mother. I have not quit yet myself but just cutting back as best as I can. I want to be able to be off them within two weeks as that is my quit date since the tenants are moving in below me then.
