Yahu,
Yup and that is why porneia was such a strong sin. Ties in nicely with 1 Cor.10:1-13

Yep, idolatry was the serious sin. The sex was the lure to draw people into it. Add on top of that the shedding of innocent blood from the unwanted offspring, and you see why it angers Yah so much. It is a violation of having no other gods before Him.

It also destroys marriage relationships. It is both physical and spiritual adultery. It destroys relationship between husband and wife as well as between mankind and Yah. It destroys covenant.

It isn't sex that Yah opposes but the misuses of it that destroys relationships when following the pagan practices.

That's exactly what I've come to understand as well. Good to see someone else write it.

Well I am very familiar with those ancient pagan practices. The prime candidate to be the next worldwide high priestess of Ashtoreth was the roommate of the girl I courted and married over 25 years ago. She set out to destroy our relationship because it was biblically based. So I am very familiar with the doctrines, motives and practices of that ancient paganism and spent years researching what scripture had to say about that evil.

I got called to stand as the Elijah to her Jezebel then see her, her coven and male followers destroyed by Yah (God). With that personal experience with what was involved, it was easy to find many scriptures that pertained to that evil that most people just plain don't understand. Many time the translators didn't understand the context and therefore didn't translate the passage correctly. I had to go back to take Hebrew to see how it could be translated differently.

For example, Eze 16 is nearly an exact description of that high priestess and the consequences that fell on her life. That passage is about Jerusalem falling under the influences of that corruption. That prophecy was fulfilled in her life.

Nice, Yahu

Granted, I lost my wife as a result to their retaliation. They took out their revenge on her to corrupt her. She ended up drugged, kidnapped, raped and pregnant from it then fell into error in her fear. I didn't see her again for 7 years.

Her actions after that pregnancy is what led to our separation and divorce. Our relationship didn't end until she turned up pregnant a second time while we tried to restore that relationship.

So yes it was a victory for Yah but not for me personally. It nearly killed me. I never remarried.

That is one sad story, Yahu. I've not personally been around anything like that.

I started noticing the scriptures about idolatry and sex when I noticed that preachers always spoke negatively of sex from those scriptures but never mentioned the idol worship. As I thought about it it seemed to me that the idol worship was the central message of those verses. Seemed to me that once part of the meaning of a verse as ignored that the rest of what is being said about the verse must be twisted in some way.

Well to actually pick that up without the knowledge of what was actually going on is rare. Good job. Few teach on the sexual aspects of the error that was involved in the paganism. It was also riddled with witchcraft which most people overlook as well. Few know exactly what an Asherah Pole was. It is even debated among the scholars.

Isa 57:3 But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the harlot.
4 Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,
5 Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks?
6 Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these?
7 Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.
8 Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself to another than me, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it.
9 And thou wentest to the king (Molech) with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even unto hell.

Now this passage is about the Baalim worship on the high place, grove and the valley below which was the valley of Hinnom outside Jerusalem. Molech is often mistranslated as 'king' in many translations. They are spelled the same in the Hebrew but here the Rabbis later mis-vowel pointed it from the original non-pointed text.

The passage had already mentioned killing the children in the valley prior in the passage. BTW Molech is a title, not a name, and means 'shameful king'. It is the vowel points that add the pointing for shameful. It is the same 'shameful king' of Babel (Babylon) and of Tyrus. The sending of his messangers via doing acts of worship is a reference to performing ritual witchcraft by sending spirits to perform actions while it calls this act as debasing thyself unto sheol.

Dear Lord, please guide this special sister during the trouble in her marriage. And her ears shall hear a word behind her saying, this is the way, walk here, when she turns to her right and when she turns to her left.
Please reassure her when she sees a thousand fall on her right side and ten thousand at her left; help her to know that if she follows You, it will not happen to her. Hide her under your protective wings.
Help her to find the narrow path that iwll lead her to life, the abundant life you have for her and for her family. Lord, I pray for a testimony that you can use for Your glory when this troubled or broken marriage is healed and restored! We will give You all the honor and the glory. Amen
