I wasn't sure where else to put this so I'll put it here.
I'm a recent born again Christian. I got saved several months ago and now I'm in the process of learning. Each day I feel like I grow more and more aware. I've been studying the bible a lot lately, and also information that refutes other false religions. Anyway...

About 10 minutes ago I was walking down to the kitchen and, I can barely describe what I felt....I felt an intense hatred staring at me. It was just..Awful. I was in the dark so I couldn't see anything, but I felt it there. My entire body was nearly shaking and I wanted to run back up to my room so bad. Here I am, a 23 year old guy who doesn't really get scared of anything, and I had this intense moment of terror. The only thing I could do was start saying the name of Jesus. And it helped. But now as I sit here in my room I'm wondering...Was that for real? Did I imagine it? It felt so intense..My heart was beating really fast.

Do you think it's possible Satan or one of his Demons targeted me because I'm new to the faith? I can't figure out what just happened but I'm definitely spooked now. I'm going to read the bible and drink tea..

When I'm in a situation like this, where something has scared me and the memory of it has gripped me, I find that repeating the Psalm 23 really helps. Also remember that 'Greater is He that is in YOU, than he who is in the word'. Also, ask God to cover you with the blood of Jesus, the enemy can't hurt you, he may threaten but there's nothing he can do. I don't think you're imagining it but remember that you have the authority of Jesus to back you up. Don't be afraid.

God's transcending peace be multiplied to you BrianAloisi!

The intensity of your encounter is exactly because you are a new Christian! You will continue to experience the wonderful everlasting love of Christ in greater measure! Hence, this makes the devil, who been utterly ostracized for eternity, extremely jealous!

Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you! The enemy can't stand praises to Jesus, so to make him flee even faster, sing loud hearty praises to your Lord Most High! :D

Consider yourself to have had a spiritual warfare encounter. For more bootcamp training, read Psalms 18, 61, 91, and 144 and Ephesians 6:10+ and keep fighting the good fight of faith!

The devil must be very afraid of YOU, Brian, and that's reason to rejoice! He finds you so intimidating and threatenting that he tries to scare you into submitting to fear.

But you can laugh in his face! The only weapons he has are lies and deception. Like the Wizard of Oz, it's all illusion.

He will try to use any false representations of him and his "power" from movies you might have seen, like The Exorcist or Poltergeist, to try to scare you into backing off from the Lord.

Instead of a huge, frightening, powerful beast, he's just a wrinkled, dried up, tiny little nothing. You now have far more power than he can even hope to have and HE KNOWS IT!

I laugh and rejoice with you that you are saved and on your way to Heaven and there's not a thing the devil can do about it.

And I agree with Humblebee and all the others here. The devil cannot stay in the presence of praise, so I suggest when this happens to you, just start praising the Lord and laughing and singing and saying the name Jesus, as often as possible, since it causes demons to tremble and the walls of hell to shake.

Give them back a dose of their own medicine. ^_^

And welcome to the family, brother!

That's also happened to me when I was a newborn baby Christian.

Whatever it was actually knocked a vase off a table to the floor, just to prove to me it was really there.

It was pretty scary, but I just rebuked it over and over as well. Eventually, it went away.
