Sending Christmas cards

So it will soon be the season to send Christmas cards.

Email has caused this custom to decline somewhat.

But a lot of ppl still do it.

I think it's a great way to keep in touch and to have the opportunity to affirm a relevant Bible text about the glorious Incarnation!

I enjoy sending Christmas cards every year. My mom and I always work on them together and I always like to draw a small picture in each one. I enjoy it a lot.

Yes, it's good to keep in touch with family and friends in this way, and not just rely on electronic messages!

And it's good opportunity to be reminded of the coming into the world of the Saviour!

I love attractive Christmas cards with good messages. We used to display the cards we received. None of our children send cards. I still send cards --- just as in the old days.

For years I sent Christian cards to unbelieving relatives as a witness, but the unbelieving relatives are still staunch atheists. But I still think Christians would be encouraged by receiving Christian Christmas cards.

The younger generation seems to be into electronic communication, but there is a lot to be said for a tasteful Christmas card, especially with a Christian element.

The number of cards sent and received has declined, that's true, but I think this owes more to the cost of the postage stamps than anything else. Send out, let's say, 30 cards and you've paid about $30, including the cost of a modestly priced card.

From a pastoral point of view, it can be an excellent way/'excuse' to keep in touch with ppl in order to encourage them. We all need encouraging...

We post a lot of our overseas cards in the US (we live in Canada); we do save by not posting international cards in Canada where the postage is higher.

writing Christmas Cards with a nice fountain pen is so satisfying. Turning off the computer ...and phone... ha, ha, yes, I will be starting to write them shortly.
...and they are fun to receive!

It is also a way to help those who make cards as a living ;people who may have a handicap and find it difficult to make a living outside .
The cards I send now are made by those who do mouth or foot painting ,and they are quite wonderful .
