  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I was reading a book and I stumbled upon a part all about self-image I was not to hot on this stuff so I read very intently…
Every one wants to have a positive self-image…
But some times we say we put our self down… in fact there are ppl that go through life putting there self’s down for a living. We call them low liners they live there life in fear of rejection so they make all these shields to protect them… when in fact these shields are what are getting them rejected.
But a positive self-image involves these key points
Honest self-appraisal, including consideration of the opinions of others
An acceptance of yourself, as God created you
Recognition that, with God’s help, you can change destructive behavior, sinful attitudes, and personality weaknesses
Choosing to make those changes, one at a time
People try and fit in they go threw magazines they go through clothing they do everything to be like the crowd…
Everyone is different… no two people are the same God made us that way and to try and be like someone else is like telling God he was wrong!
There are 3 sources of self-image….

#1. The opinion of others:
This is a very common one… but has its cons more than its pros
There is not much to say on this one. the opinion of others are most likely wrong... and they change with social statice... not very sturdy if you ask me

#2 one’s own opinions:
Here you base all your self-image on what you think of yourself… a very strong way to go at life… you don’t care what others think… they can not put you down…
But the cons are pretty big also.
For example pretending that you think you are some hot shot… when in fact everyone hates you…your not being honest with your self this can lead to big trouble.

#3 God’s opinion
This is the best and everlasting foundation that you can base your self-image on…. God already knows our innermost selves, our thoughts, where we are everything. And his views on reality are perfect…

The book I read is called “Too Close Too Soon”
Chapter five…
Written by Jim Talley (my councilor) and Bobbie Reed…
Very good book for relationships… and the ages 15 though till marriage and even after…

Dude, i think all you can do is be yourself. If people dont like you for who you are then thats there problem and not yours. Your not doing anyting worng. If you act like a idiot then there's a different story. You have to think of yourself as you and nothing other then what you are. For me i am a christian and i dont try to be anyone else but myself and a christian. My lifestyle is as a christian and i love it. Now if people have a problem with that so be it. If you love who you are, you are fine.
