• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private.   • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Lately this girl, has been cyber bullying me... I'm 18 and this is really degrading... She calls me repeatedly a [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] (for which I am not) and calls me a [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]... (sorry for the vulgar language) and other things. I've told her to stop, but she just keeps on going.. And now I just cease to reply. She even told me once or twice to kill myself, which I don't plan on, nor do I have any desire to do so, but it is just very degrading to me as a person... I do have a past of SI (self injury), but I'm a month and a half clean, and I'm never gonna go back there.. I've told my mom, but she doesn't know what to do, because when she was growing up, she never really went through this kind of stuff... I feel so alone and ugly.

My advice is block and report her. And great job on not replying to the person. Is she still bothering you?

And I remember you because of your other post on 'General Struggles'. And I came on 'Self-Esteem' because I had a mean woman send me PM on Christian forums, and I was still bothered by it and wanted advice. LOL I'm telling the truth, I didn't do anything to that person. The funny thing is that they are still on my friend's list. I won't say who.

Hi! How have you been? I saw your thread and decided to message you on here, because we have so much in common and I understand what you're going through.
First off, you are not alone and certainly not ugly. You are made beautiful and perfect according to God's will. He sees you as amazing and strikingly gorgeous and anyone who doesn't agree with that is just not worth your time!

Second, you need to understand that the girl's opinion on you just doesn't matter. Please realize that ANY person doing something like this is very lonely and insecure (even if they don't realize/admit to it). Who is that girl? If she's someone from your school, you might want to report this to your principal or guidance counselor. Also, you can easily 'block' her on Facebook - this way she won't be able to either see your account or contact you at all. This is what I'd do.

The best thing you can do to protect yourself in the future is to boost your self esteem. I know it's mighty hard, since I myself used to struggle with SI and self esteem, but you can do this! Just look at yourself and see the beauty in you.. Imagine yourself as a confident, bold individual, and then put that 'vision' on like an article of clothing. You are priceless and beautiful! Always remember that!
