  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Psalm 27:8 (NASB)

Seek My face.

To seek something or someone is more than a casual or passing interest. A man in love will go to any lengths to woo or seek his lover. No expense is too high, no burden is too much, no grief is too painful and no amount of waiting is too long. To seek God is to pursue a relationship with the Almighty with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength (Matthew 22:37). When Christ prophesied that He who seeks will find (Matthew 7:8), He wasn't referring to a one or two day endeavor, but a lifelong passionate search for the Almighty. A man in love never tires of pursuing his beloved. Do we love God enough to keep seeking deeper intimacy with Him? I hope that we do.

Wow this is a really good post im gonna save this post and share it thank you!!

This makes me think. When we get baptized and put our faith in the lord. Salvation might not be given to us at that very moment. But when we put faith in Christ he will set our paths straight so that one day if we seek with all our mind body and soul maybe we can find salvation.

Good post...

This reminds me of the wedding vows -

For better or for worse
For richer or for poorer
In sickness and in health
To Love and to Cherish...

We may well be reminded that our commitment to Jesus should not just meet these promises regarding a human relationship, but exceed them.

Beloved ones, this is what we have heard:

“The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34:16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So we can understand why David prayed:

“Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“When You said, “SEEK My face,” My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will SEEK.””
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Do not hide Your face from me; Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Though the Lord told David to seek His face, David also concerned about the mercy of the Lord ; for David perceived the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. So before David came to God, David seek the mercy of the Lord. And after he seek the Lord’s mercy, he was concerned that the Lord hide His face, that the Lord turn him away in anger. And David perceived that the Lord who didn’t hide His face from him and who didn’t turn away in anger is the Lord who have helped him. And the God of his salvation who never leave him nor forsake him.

So before we seek the Lord’s face,
we should consider whether the Lord hear and answer our voices by first seeking His mercy.

Without the mercy of the Lord, the Lord hide His face, and that His anger has not yet turned away from us, and consider that we have done evil and that He could cut the remembrance of us from the earth.

So when the Lord doesn’t hide His face, He shows us favor and that He is at peace with us. And He will help us. And that He is the God of our salvation who save us, who never leave us nor forsake us.

So seeking the Lord’s face, we find the Lord’s favor and peace, and assurance that He will help us. And He will be with us, and save us.

To God the Father be thanksgiving through Christ.
Amen

Proverbs 30:
18
There are three things which are too wonderful for me,
Yes, four which I do not understand:
19 The way of an eagle in the air,
The way of a serpent on a rock,
The way of a ship in the midst of the sea,
And the way of a man with a maiden.

I listened to a man preach from this text, about how he tirelessly pursued his wife
from the day he met her. Your words here immediately reminded me of that sermon.
Falling into and pursuing love is a wonderful thing.
