ReformedJen: PM me, when you like... I use authorized KJV and other older bible translations...I also have an old bible dictionary also the new inductive study bible etc...my hubby teaches the bible at church once a week to a mens group.
Your husband teaches a mens class but you are asking for outside help from strangers ?? Wont your husband
help ? I think there is nothing better than a husband and wife working together to learn Gods Word.

Maybe you mean like a titus 2 thing where you learn from the example of an older, godly woman?
In that case there ought to be plenty in your church. Dont dismiss them. If there womens bible studies, join them. From those groups maybe theres someone you click with and you can spend more time together.

I havent read your blog post sorry so not sure exactly what the situation is.

shelley1952: My hubby works, and sees after his aging father who took a bad fall last month and then he tripped an fell again last week, I don't trouble my hubby too much since he's got his hands full with work, lifting/transferring his father and making lesson plans for the mens class at church. Me and my hubby are doing a bible study on marriage this year.
I'm no longer working outside the home, so I started doing another bible study since I'm home during the day and it being summer time, I got a bit more time on my hands until the middle August when the family come in and then after they leave we go on vacation (that is, if my FIL is doing OK by then.)

I am so sorry to hear about your father-in-law, will pray for him. I understand about your husbands time. It sounds like he has his hands full. It also sounds like you are in plenty of studies already with you and your husband studying and your other study you started but glad to hear you and your husband are doing a Bible study on marriage. I would offer assistance but I belong to a non denominational church and while I cant say I am a brand new christian I do not feel qualified to help and probably our beliefs would clash. Its a shame your church has no one to help, a church that large should have all kinds of help. Thats why I like a small friendly church, I went to a large church like that for a little while but I just couldnt fit in. I personally like to study with a flesh and blood person in front of me, that way we can look up things together and have that personal type of fellowship. Hope you find what you are searching for, God bless.

Shelley1952: my church ain't a large church, It's a community church, where we live is in a black neighborhood(I'm black) on the other side of town(costs are lower here). There be small classes to help others learn, most of the ministering here be to help single parents (there a lot of them struggling.) I'm not seeking a mentor but I did offer to help the poster ReformedJen, who posted this thread. I did post two questions on this forum cause I wanted input from others here. I'm working on bettering my communication skills and trying to learn to use better grammar etc.
It's not easy because I hear bad grammar all the time where we live and I've gotten in the habit of using that and texting has contributed to ruining my writing over the years lol. I'm working on undoing that, so I'm reading lots and working on typing/writing more than one or two lines when communicating.
