• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

God, Candida Cleanse, ERP, Anointment, Flaxseed Oil/Fish Oil Omega 3, Magnasium, No meat everyday, no dairy, no fast food, no junk food, no processed food, do 30 minute walks and talk to God, practice thinking positive 90% of the time of the day, get rid of every single cultic, satanic thing, including music, videogames, pornography, movies, media, idols, mystic things that might be lingering around your house.

Be angry! Shout to God "Why have you given me this thing?" God will never get angry at you, He loves you unconditionally, when you blaspheme Him HE KNOWS ITS NOT YOU. He sees the heart, while men see outside. Why do you think you feel so aweful everytime you think those aweful, disgusting, anti-godly thoughts? Because they are not your thoughts!

Guess what, OCD is not a psychological problem, its a spiritual and stomach problem. What? Stomach? That's ridiculous! Nope, its not. Look up Candida and OCD and see the results.

Quick story: I did the candida cleanse, I got rid of OCD and the thoughts, thoughts only came up once at the end of the day and something the thoughts never came. I started eating wrong and BAM! It came back.

Why am I tell you this all quickly? Well, this is the answer to your problem.
All of our bodies are made differently, so results may very or will have to be done some other ways.

Do the research, it is done so easily now a days with the help of Google. Look up every thing I told you right now. Candida Cleanse: 40 days (two months), eat right everyday/exercise everyday, you don't even have to do ERP if you don't want to there are many stories about how people beat OCD just through the stomach cleanses and all that junk that works.

Don't doubt. You desperate? DO SOMETHING! GOGOGOGO! RIGHT NOW I AM FREAKING ALMOST FREE(YEAH I SAID FREAKING CAUSE I AM EXCITED ABOUT THIS). BEAT THIS PIECE OF ***

I'm gonna be around for a bit more, I'll answer any questions that you might have, I just wrote this quickly because I don't have time as of now but go ahead and ask, I'll get back to you.

I don't know if I totally buy in to the fact that OCD is all nutrition. For those of us who have OCD related to traumatic events there are other issues at play. I have noticed that taking magnesium and fish oil and a b vitamin complex along with plenty of excersize has helped, but I think ultimately learning to give things to God is the hardest and most important step towards recovery.

Like I mentioned, it's not a psychological problem, its both nutrition AND spiritual.
For some reason, we as humans hold grudges and pains of our pasts as if those moments in our lives are still alive today. And guess what, the enemy knows this and tries to torture you with your past.
I too did have a tragic event happen in my life, and I have pin point it and know what exactly it is.
What happened to me is that I grew up in a dysfunctional family and depressing household, and I will not go into details but something specific happened to me, and I found the answer to beat this spiritual/emotional warfare: I forgave the people in my life, from my past, through Christ Jesus, and let them free out of my heart and very life.
When I did this, I remember... I imagined every person that had hurt me, even kids, and for each person I told them what they did to me, that it hurt, but I forgive them, and I image myself giving them a hug, and they just... slowly disappear, the hurt and the memories just fade, the emotion you had... you feel like chains and ropes and weights have been taken off of you.
And giving to God IS THE HARDEST STEP I agree! OCD concerns about YOU, the individual, having control. It is hard for a person with OCD to give up the control you think you have, and give it all to God who in fact IS IN CONTROL.
I suggest all of you read The Desire of Ages. It'll take you about a year to read that book, but it will help you rethink and view the way you see God, more importantly Jesus Christ.
Again, beating OCD doesn't take a few weeks or you can never say "I'll be free from this by October 23th"... you have to fight it everyday, learn how to beat it everyday, control it everyday, until you're fight has been won. and you WILL win.

I have had major OCD since I was a child. Nutrition and stomach issues? I think not. It dictates how I do things every day.

Funny... When I told my mom I had been formally diagnosed a few years ago, she said, "Well, that makes a lot of sense now". Interesting, no?

Everyone with OCD does not suffer from intrusive thoughts, that is just one of many obsessions, I suffer from evil thoughts but also have compulsive behaviour. I have to compulsively complete acts to relieve anxiety. There are many different forms of OCD, but hey if this helps you, go for it.

By definition, OCD is a psychological disorder. There's a physical thing that happens in the brain to make us have various obsessions and compulsions. The nutrition thing that you're suggesting is definitely something that can help. A healthy lifestyle in general can help with a wide variety of problems, not just OCD.

But we should bear in mind that OCD is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain.
