Even if you are not a fan of the cancelled TV show Firefly, this is one of the best movies I have seen all year. Check it out to be sure if you like a kind of "Space Western" type movie.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've seen it 3 times and will see it again tonight. 
I love Firefly and Serenity just made it better.

I saw Serenity last night and was SO pleased! It was such a change to have high expectations for a film and actually walk out feeling those expectations were met. It was so well done, which is sometimes hard to say about many sci-fi movies. My sister and I were so impressed that we bought the DVD season of Firefly last night online...I can't wait to watch it!

I never got into the series...but the movie is easily one of the BEST films to come out in a long while...not just one of the best sci-fi films ever..but one of the best FILMS in general.

It's really well done. There's interviews, commentaries, music, segments where they teach you Chinese based on things they say in Firefly as well as news and notes. The transitions are well done and the hosts are great. Perfect for any Browncoat.
If you haven't seen the movie...SEE IT. If you've seen it, see it again with someone who hasn't. Rumor has it if the movie can break even, Universal will allow them to make another. The actors and crew are signed on for a trilogy but they won't make a 2nd if the first doesn't break even. It cost $39 million to make and it's made $28+ million worldwide so far.

I love Serenity... I got into Firefly because I am also a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
The movie is so good that I can forgive it for using the name of an incontinence protection product.

I loved the movie.. got completely hooked.. still had no idea where it came from until channel surfing around one weekend recently and saw a ship on screen that looked oddly familiar..... ack .. Firefly...hooked immediately..had to go buy the series on DVD.. ...
