I used to do an hour's straight flagging when I attended a Pentecostal church. They had an awesome band and would just play and play going straight from one song to another without a break. It was like doing intensive aerobics!

Then I had to have my knee done and coincidentally left that church. Was off my feet and church hunting for almost two years so did none. Then I got invited to do this so had about 3 one hour practice sessions in the sports hall at the gym!

Not done anything else since.

Except, oh yes! Got invited to blow the shofar yesterday to mark the beginning of Lent!

Thank you! My first introduction to "flagging" was your blog many years ago right here on CF. Since then I have had the chance to worship with flags. A lady told me that "flagging is a very extravagant form of worship", so I grabbed some flags and danced around and waved them like a child before her Father.
I love being able to see you do it because I kinda think of you as the original "flagger" :) , the expert in my eyes.
God Bless.

Am I missing something here doesn't the Scriptures say "let everything that has breath praise the Lord" I'm sorry did the flag say something and I didn't hear it? I think I missed the conversation the flags were having with each other. This is not in the New Testament as a form of worship to God. It is nothing more than a worship of man for himself. All one has to do is to show me the verse under the new covenant where this is acceptable form of whorship to God.

Yes Enoc Son - you are missing a lot - the Bible says if we don't worship Him - the rocks will cry out - do you think God would be pleased that you critize such beautiful and heart felt worship as what Jo has offered.

If the rocks mean that much to God - how much more would the beautiful worship of the flags please Him.

you mean the rocks will cry out with a breath or voice? Still looking for that chapter and verse that says it's acceptable to God in the new testament. Why it's not there you say? I don't need to hear the opinion of a person I need to see it written in the word of God.

Do you not subscribe that We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart.
2 Corinthians 5:12

Here's some scriptures for you

- Psalm 20.5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious and lift up our banners in the name of our God.

- Psalm 60.4 But for those who fear You, You have raised a banner to be unfurled against the bow.

- Song of Sol 2.4 He has taken me to the banquet hall and his banner over me is love.

- Isaiah 13.2 Raise up a banner on a bare hilltop, shout to them, Beckon to them to enter the gates of the nobles

And some others . . . . .

Tribal and family banners:-
Numbers 2v2
Numbers 10v10-14

In warfare:-
Psalm 74v4,
Isaiah 31v9
Psalm 20v5
Song of Solomon 6v4

As a rallying point:-
Isaiah 5v26
Isaiah 11v10

As proclamation :-
Jeremiah 50v2
Jeremiah 4v6
Jeremiah 51v12
Isaiah 62v10

The Hebrew words used in the Old Testament for flags and banners are:-
DEGEL (Strongs 1713/1714) means to be conspicuous
NACE (Strongs 5251) means a signal
OWTH (Strongs 226) means a signal

and the final is that Christ Himself is the ultimate banner in that He said "But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself." John 12:32

I can give more if you wish!

With Jesus there is freedom, not rules and regulations. There is no legalism!

Matthew 11:28-30, Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Anyone who comes against a person and says, you can't worship by waving flags is not only legalism but in effect is trying to place an unnecessary yoke upon another person.

The New Testament is not a book of rules and regulations. No one should be looking through the NT for rules and regulations on how to worship because the NT is about the gospel, and the main thrust of that gospel is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will not only have eternal life with him but can live a life of freedom, not just from sin but from RELIGION! Telling people they can't worship God by waving flags to music because that practise isn't written as being ok in the NT is placeing a yoke of religion upon that person. And thank you Lord for building flaglady up in spirit so as not to listen to such things. Keep waving those flags Flaglady, God loves it, and I'm sure will honor and bless you for it!! For the true worshippers of God will worship him in Spirit and in truth, not by practising a list of do's and don'ts.
