It seems that they now have their own cops?
It was never their communities in the first place. They don’t own those homes, they don’t own those businesses. They pay to live there and they work there for low wages. They’re not burning down their own communities, they’re burning down the plantations. These riots are so ridiculous. Like, let’s destroy our communities because that will help. Getting rid of police is asinine.

They’re destroying mostly insured private property in protest of the system that’s left them with no property of their own. Would you trade places with them? What they are doing is destroying other people's things.
Would you invite them to your neighborhood?

Institutional racism (also known as systemic racism) is a form of racism expressed in the practice of social and political institutions. It can lead to such issues as discrimination in criminal justice, employment, housing, health care, political power and education, among other issues.

Seattle protesters declare 'cop free zone' after police leave precinct
Protesters declared a “Cop Free Zone” near where Seattle police boarded up and seemingly abandoned their East Precinct building Monday night, according to local reports -- following days of demonstrations in response to the police-involved death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
The surrounding area had seen more than a week of protests, with some of them growing violent.
The first night without a police presence was “rainy and peaceful and full of speeches from activists, agitators, poets and socialist city council members,” according to Capitol Hill Seattle, a self-described community-based news blog.
You are right, things haven’t changed. There are still separate bathrooms for blacks and whites. Separate schools and drinking fountains. Blacks have to give up their seats or move off the path for whites. Blacks must bow the knee and can never hold positions of power over whites. Blacks are confined to a life of service.... they can be janitors or maids. Yup, MLK did not change a thing. This is why it is absolutely critical to LISTEN TO WHAT IS BEING SAID. When peaceful complaints about black men being killed were denigrated as "anti-american" or an "affront to the flag" what did we expect would happen the NEXT time a black man was killed for a minor offense?
No one, literally NO ONE thinks violent riots are a "great idea"...but once you show a community that the "social contract" doesn't extend to them, what do you think they are going to do in response?
Think about it: if George Floyd's death had just been met by a couple more NFL players "taking a knee" at the next game (whenever that will be) it would be really easy to ignore it or complain about how it "offends" you but now we see what the French Royal family saw in 1789. Or what the Tsar's family saw in 1917.
Yeah, both these events went poorly for the people revolting in the long run, but they came after a very long period of time of trying to get change through non-violent means.
I think Conservatives love MLK because he is easy to ignore. It is wonderful to think of how great the world would be if we actually LISTENED to MLK. But he gave his I have a Dream speech a couple months before I was born and here we are 57 years later and it doesn't really feel like things have changed.
In America Racism trump every good intention we could ever mouth. And in the end that's all we really do is "mouth" equality. We blather on about equality and diversity but when we have to face real inequality we run away in terror.
No, I belong to a conservative Non denom church group, bible based. MLK is brought up a lot as well he should be. He led that movement by the word of God and looking to God and it brought about change. I was alive then not newly born and I remember him well. Just this morning in a Baltimore service from our home based church came a message from Joshua about Jericho and Joshua looking up knowing he had not the means in himself to do this task and found the Commander of the Armies of Gods angels standing before him. In like manner an account was read, MLK had received a bad call in the night threatening him and his family. He sat at his kitchen table alone planning his escape out of this movement when a message from the Lord came to him that he is not alone, God is with Him. He himself had to turn to the true and living God. We lose sight of Him.I think Conservatives love MLK because he is easy to ignore. A fine platitude, but not really relevant to the discussion at hand. There it is
let's give them hard workers some
property for free.
I was raised in the ghetto and most all of us of all colors went out and got jobs and worked for over 30 years straight and bought and own nice homes.
Seems hard work pays off for ALL COLORS.

The real world would tend to disagree:
It's going to end up going like this
root them out ( should have already happened actually). Demands ? That's hysterical in my view.
Institutional racism doesn’t exist because you have affluent friends “of color.” Classic.Sure glad that my friends of color
didn't buy into that one.

Are you going to also ignore all the socialism that MLK jr. Supported, or is that not convenient? No, I belong to a conservative Non denom church group, bible based. In this mess we are in, how many of those folks have the Commander of the angels of God in this with them ? They need to turn to Him to see Him. Christ is here, has more power than any unlawful demonstration. The trouble with turning to God is we have to face our own weakness to trust Him. I'm not seeing that in those streets. If these people are truly broken by our society that has treated them so badly, let them turn to God for the change, unite with God as the head. If they are truly down trodden He will listen. But God is the missing element in most of our societal issues today. We all stand looking at the walls that need defeating, but God says something else ! He says look to Me and the walls will crumble as they should. You will defeat this no other way permanently. You might chip a stone from the wall ( take down a statue or two), you might win a little battle. But war is won with God.
And that's what MLK was about and that's why so much change came from that movement, it was right in Gods eyes. Too bad he had to die but God knows why. Amen
And yes I know you are Atheist. I'm sorry, my words still stand.
That is an evil idea.Starving them out
might work best
because, without free stuff
they won't make it for long.
They love the government freebies.
